The Great Navy is ONE | Every detail was curated to create the stunning and memorable vintage circus celebration for Navy.

The inspiration for the party came from the client’s vintage circus book. The book showed different circus acts which inspired having the various interactive activities. It inspired the use of the beautiful tent with draping, and for the hunt for the vintage carousel horse.

Some of my favorite details to design was the backdrop, kids table, and the dozens of custom signage. I spent hours finding the perfect paint colors, doing math on measurements for each part of the backdrop to ensure the signage we created would fit perfectly, and designing the backdrop signage.

For the kids table, I decided to add colors that weren’t in our color palette to lean into the circus theme and to make the kids table more of a focal point. The pieces from were the perfect addition to the table and the party hats were adorable on the elephant (who we named Peanuts) and tiger.

It may be Super Bowl Sunday but our Super Bowl is creating beautiful weddings and events. If you have ever dreamed of getting married with the most beautiful views then has the most stunning forests, views, morning fog, and animals walking around.
We are so grateful to have been able to assist with this wedding and learning new skills that we’ll use for our couples!

A few of my favorite photos from Alexis and Andrew’s wedding. My very favorite photo is the one where I’m thanking them for allowing their wedding to be the very first wedding I’ve fully planned and designed, and letting them know their wedding will always hold a special place in my heart.
Taking risks and trying new things is scary but I’m thankful for taking the step to create weddings because it lead to this beautiful wedding and these photos. This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward taking everything I’ve learned to create many more weddings and being a part of many more love stories 🤍

Thankful. Thankful for the opportunities this year has brought such as this wedding at this past April. It was my first time visiting the property and it was more gorgeous then I could have imagined! The morning fog haze, birds chirping, sunlight shining through the trees, hills, fields, forests, and everything in between was beautiful.

I am also thankful for the new friendships this workshop created, the discussions, and exploring Carmel. Learning to create floral arrangements, beautiful rose aisle, setting the tablescape, and so many wedding details was so fascinating. The lessons I learned were taken note of and put towards the 2 weddings my team fully designed and planned this year. I can’t wait to share more photos and videos of them!

Hopefully we’ll be able to go back soon!

Hi, I’m Susanna! I’m the owner and lead event planner and designer at Lumi Accents LLC. Some of you may know me, but some of you may not, and as I have these amazing photos taken by at the grand opening, it was time to do another intro.
Instead of the typical introduction with fun facts that you can find on previous introduction posts, I thought it was important to talk about my shortcomings. As someone who is a perfectionist and people pleaser, I try to have my team plan and be extremely organized for each event. We create so many documents and designs for each event that it fills a thick binder. However, just as any human does, I have made mistakes. If you’ve worked in events, you know that there are always unpredictable things that happen before, on, after event days. Usually they are small surprises that are fixed very quickly without the client even knowing but sometimes vendors make mistakes, venues make mistakes, miscommunications happen, so my team and I need to resolve the issues. However, once in a blue moon, larger miscommunications happen. When this happens my team and I try to resolve everything but sometimes the reality is that you can’t. The difficult part about events is that they only happen once so there is no repeat option, no do over. This is only one of the reasons why events can be so stressful.
So what do I do as an event planner when I make mistakes? The first thing I tend to do is look at past communications with the vendors and clients to see what was agreed-upon earlier and then I apologize. I apologize no matter if the miscommunication or misunderstanding was due to my team and I, a vendor, the venue, or the client, and try to find a resolution to the mistake.
Some thing I have been trying to work on lately, is to not take mistakes personally. As someone who tries to create each event to perfection, and please each person involved, when mistakes or miscommunications happen, it does affect my mental health. I have been trying to remind myself that I am human and that my team and I try our very best for each event.

What’s your biggest shortcoming and why?

DETAILS | We adore adding details to each event we create. From cocktail napkins, drink stirrers, coloring pages, bubble machines, custom backdrops, adding seashells in fishing nets or other decor to match the theme, custom backdrop sign, having the macarons be the shape of seashells, the details that are added personalize and customize the event to make it your own.

Under the Sea, Ayla is Three | If you throw your own parties often without a party planner you know how much time, energy, money goes into putting together an event. The reason why we have clients is because time is valuable and often there isn’t enough time to create the parties we want without help from planners and vendors.
The reality is that each event takes a large portion of your time to think about, put together ideas and inspiration, source, order, pick up and drop off items, communicate with vendors to ensure they are creating your cake, signs, backdrops, balloons, dessert, etc to your liking, communicate with vendors to ensure they have the correct time for set up and teardown, set up and take down those items, and so much more. That is why we do what we do. We help you by taking away the stress of having to think of those details by creating schedules for vendors, color palettes, design mockups, meeting with vendors, having venue walkthroughs, and so much more. We’re proud to have many repeat clients that come to us year after year as they see that we love to serve their guests and make their events better than they could have dreamed of.
All the events we created this year other than for 2 were for repeat clients! That’s something I dreamed of years ago and it is such an honor to now have. We spend hours away from our families to be able to create memories for yours so having repeat clients is such an honor as it shows how appreciated our time, talents, and efforts are.

Hi yall! It’s been a minute since I introduced myself and as we have some new faces here I thought I’d say “hello”.

I’m Susanna, the owner and lead event planner and designer at Lumi Accents LLC. We started the business as a hobby during covid with luxury picnics and it grew to us creating bespoke events. Now my team and I create fully customized events where we plan the events or weddings from start to finish.

There are so many aspects of my job that I love. My personal favorite aspects are dreaming of ideas, creating mockups, creating custom designs, and sourcing the perfect items for your event. I spend hours going through linens, textures, colors, rentals, paint colors to ensure that every aspect of your event looks perfect and that all items work together to create a cohesive look. I love bringing your likes and stories to life by sourcing and creating custom items that fit your vision and make the event truly yours. I love working with so many wonderful vendors to bring our custom designs a reality: from florists, custom sign vendors, custom event rentals.

A part from being an event planner and designer, I love spending time with my adorable nephew and nieces. I try to spend as much time as I can with them especially when they call me on Facetime and tell me they want me to take them on a donut date night 😄 I also love going on walks, creating sign packages (adding more to our website soon), Tik Toks (even though I’m not good at it 😅), and going to the beach, traveling.

Even though I love 95% of owning this business, with every job/business there are upsides and downsides. Currently the downsides I struggle with, and am learning to work through, are the not fun aspects such as categorizing expenses, filing taxes, paying for all expensive programs to keep this business running, and setting boundaries when needed. I’m thankful to be learning new ways to improve each year and everyone that helps keep this business running (thankful to my team, accountant’s team, photographers).

Each event requires a “wow” moment to impress your guests. Some ways we love creating this moment is by adding balloons into a pool, photo backdrop moments, floral installations, and adding personalized touches. We also offer luxury picnics that are very popular for baby showers and birthdays as we can customize them to match your preferred them. Who’s ready for spring and summer? I sure am! ☀️ I’m ready for my birthday in April, a fun trip to Cali for a real wedding workshop, beautiful weddings and events, and another year creating memorable events for you!
