Lumi Accents is an event styling, luxury picnic, event rental and decor business serving Nashville, TN, Lexington, KY, and beyond. Our focus is to help you bring your event vision to life with our rentals, skills, and services! Lumi Accents. “Lumi” means snow in Finnish. We wanted to incorporate our homeland Finland into our business, and nothing reminds us more of Finland than a snowy Finnish winter day. Who’s behind Lumi Accents? We’re a sister duo - Rebecca & Susanna - and we’re both big party planners. For years, we’ve organized, decorated, and thrown small get-togethers and parties for ourselves and our friends & family. We’ve been wanting to start a side-hustle, so what’s a better time than 2020 COVID - pandemic? We know people are still wanting to do small gatherings, and we’re here to help make them memorable! It’s nearly August!! The past half year has flown by, here’s a few notable mentions that we’re so thankful to have been a part of:
JAN - started with taking down Christmas supplies for multiple clients, then moved to us having many many Zoom meetings

FEB - tastings, our annual Galentine’s Day workshop at the mall, more Zoom calls

MARCH - in-person venue walkthroughs, meetings with vendors, spring events such as Taylor’s 30th

APRIL - Then April came around and it was time to finalize all of Jaden’s events and wedding while taking a few days in Florida and a celebration in Nashville with friends to celebrate turning 30. The end of April was filled with Jaden’s wedding prep, 2 events and their wedding! We had our first People Magazine feature!

MAY - Right after the wedding, it was time for the annual CMTA Derby fundraising event where we helped bring in over 80k towards finding a cure for CMTA!! We had our first Loverly feature! We designed and coordinates the Creator Awards, and multiple other events such as Victoria’s baby shower weekend. My sisters and I went to Charleston for our very first sister trip.

JUNE - I traveled to Jekyll Island to coordinate a wedding with Maddie for a friend and wedding planner, the WaterWipes event was a hit & we celebrated Georgia for the third year in a row with the cutest theme!

So what’s in store for the rest of the year? We have a wedding coming up, more birthdays and events, workshops, and Christmas decorating! As always, we’re here to serve you.

Victoria’s Baby Shower | Behind the Chaos - our series showing the behind the scenes of intentional event planning. In Tennessee, it can be raining, thundering, humid, hot and cold all in the span of a few hours so outdoor events always come with an extra layer of planning.

For this video, we tried a different technique of filming where we didn’t have anyone behind the camera but instead used a tripod. It’s a bit different but let us know what you think!

The West Era Rentals team was amazing creating my designs and bringing them to life! They hand painted the awning to be the exact colors we needed and all the details together were perfect. I have about 30 minutes of footage of their guys with my mics as I went inside to prep making the funniest comments but that didn’t fit into this video 😅

Victoria’s Baby Shower | A weekend celebrating Victoria and Birdie surrounded by her closest friends and family with all the gorgeous details and activities to celebrate them all. The final event of the weekend was filled with happy tears, joy, amazing food and music, so much love and appreciation for each other, and of course fun surprises!

This baby shower will always have a place in our hearts. We created a weekend full of activities and events to bring all her loved ones together to celebrate those that helped through years of loss. Those that struggle with infertility, miscarriages, and/or late term loss understand the grief that women go through when our bodies don’t give the outcome we want (a healthy baby) and the emotions that come with it, the pain, sometimes guilt, losing friendships, etc.

As someone who was diagnosed as a teenager with a condition that won’t allow me to get pregnant, I spent years feeling inadequate. Feeling that I wasn’t a “full woman” or that I was less-than, the grief of finding out I’ll never be “normal”. So creating this to celebrate Victoria and her daughter after years of loss, felt right. It healed a part of my heart and showed me that prayers get answered, the community you have around you is beautiful, and sometimes creating the beautiful family you imagined takes time 🤍

Part Four | Behind the Chaos - a series showcasing the behind the scenes of event and wedding day and how our team resolves any issues so our clients can enjoy their day. Our team has an emergency kit for any problems that may arise so when the draping fell, we were able to fix it. We also create a rain plan beforehand in the case we have to implement it. Unfortunately the radar showed it would be raining for hours right at ceremony so the bar was covered with tarps, guests were greeted in the parking lot with umbrellas, the bridal party and bride walked into the ceremony with umbrellas. We then had towels to quickly wipe things down when the rain let up.

Our job was done well when the bride left a review saying, “On the wedding day, she handled everything behind the scenes so smoothly—we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. Any little issue that came up, she took care of it before we even knew about it. Our timeline ran perfectly, our vendors were all coordinated, and we were actually able to relax and enjoy the day. We’ve had so many guests tell us how amazing everything was, and a huge part of that is because of Susanna. We’re so grateful for her and would recommend her to anyone without hesitation!”

Part Three | Behind the scenes of Jaden’s wedding day set up. I always wonder how people can have their wedding days without a planner because imagine if our team of 8 hadn’t been there to solve all these surprises! Our team is very hand ons with assisting vendors, coordinating with all the vendors, ensuring the family and couple have breakfast, coffee, drinks and lunch while getting ready, creating and implementing weather back ups when needed, setting up, keeping track of the schedule, watching the radar to ensure photos are taken before it rains, and also being a part of the special moments such as the dress reveal and more. We love that our job is making your day special!

Behind the Chaos | Behind the scenes of WaterWipes launch event for their feminine wipes. Sometimes event set ups are stressful and many issues have to be fixed but then are times when things go so smoothly we have time for coffee AND breakfast. Those are a treat!
