I’m seeing signs of life poking through the soil in my spring gardens! Irises, tulips, daffodils, and muscari leaves are emerging from the soil. I’ve got buds of peonies appearing and more buds on my hydrangeas, lilacs, and forsythia! It’s the perfect time to start harvesting spring sticks such as curly willow, dogwood, and p***y willow for planters and arrangements 🌸

Fern Floral is 5! 🥳 THANK YOU to my team - my beautiful mom who helps prep and create floral arrangements and bouquets with me, my crafty and skilled dad (not pictured) who taught me how to operate a scissor lift for ceiling installations and engineer mechanics for a hanging install, and my husband Ross who is my partner in everything I do and the best day of assistant with wedding set-ups. I would couldn’t do it without you!

THANK YOU to anyone who has supported us by purchasing flowers, planters, being a wedding client, following our story on social media, and spreading the word to others about Fern Floral. This job wouldn’t exist without you 🥰

Late winter and early spring weddings are pretty rare around here so it’s a bonus when I get to put something together with flowers I haven’t seen in months 🌸 It makes me want them back even more!

I bought more seeds than ever this year for our expanded growing space and am itching to start them.

Last year I started a bit too early and lots of plants outgrew their trays. Every year you learn a little more!

Dahlias, peonies, and garden roses are among the specialty flowers that are absolutely worth the extra money.

Not only do these blooms add unmatched beauty, but they are larger flowers that require less stems to be used to create the same effect.

Bonus for using local blooms in season! This cuts down the cost of these blooms since they do not need to be imported 🌸

🌸 try colored or textured glass bud vases for an added touch
🌸 use unique and dainty or “dancing” flowers such as butterfly ranunculus or agrostemma for height or movement
🌸 bud vases are an excellent choice for narrow harvest tables that have limited space
🌸 mix bud vases with high and/or low candles for a gorgeous display that doesn’t take up too much space
🌸 single bud vases are great for cocktail tables and clusters of bud vases are a great way to add color to areas with limited space such as the reception bar area
