🌸Some wild babies for Prinali and Dilan’s engagement party

There is so much I could say about these arrangements because they represent so much about me and my business. The two most top of the mind though:

1. The clients wanted unique and colorful and TRUSTED me. Flowers were a priority and this is where the magic happens.

2. I used heaps of local (amaranth, Gomphrena, limelight hydrangea, lisianthus etc) and non local (anthurium, orchids, daisies) flowers. Most of my designs use both.

This lets my style come through- not purely wildflower and not too traditional, but somewhere in the middle. I have double the options and choose the varieties that contribute best to the overall vision.

I don’t work a lot with true reds, but if it is your wedding color you better believe I’m going to include raspberries in your centerpieces!💃🏼🌶️❤️‍🔥

Temps in the 70s have got me dreaming of Piper and Tanner’s fall wedding- one of my favorite arches!!!😍

You’ll notice in the arch are yellow/reddish berry branches. They are big whimsical curved babies that are called bittersweet and available in the fall. I love them so much.

When I’m working on a wedding, I always pre order 90% of the flowers, but leave 10% up to wandering the wholesaler and seeing what speaks to me!! This lets me snag pleasant surprises like this bittersweet!🍁

I am absolutely NOT ready to say goodbye to summer yet, so I’m doing one last class before September hits!🌞

Bring drinks. I’ll have snacks. We’ll make a peachy, orange, pink sunset arrangement together. No experience needed!

$85 per person. You can expect to play with some traditional and not so traditional flowers.

Statement vases! Did you know this is one of my website options?

Most of my arrangements are low and lush in plain colored vases, but if you’re looking for something tall/playful/know your person would love a new vase, this one’s for you.

You get to choose the vase you want from my options listed (more than just these🫶🏼) and I’ll fill it with blooms!

One of the best things I’ve ever done for my business is to create website options that speak to ME. I’ve never worked at a florist who did this, but I love it so much!

Hiiii!

I’m Caitlyn and I am so grateful you’re following along on this flower journey of mine. Golden Flora was birthed a little over 2 years ago and I’m still pinching myself wondering how we got here.

People trust me to make colorful, whimsical bouquets for their weddings?!!! To honor loved ones who have passed away. To express 30 years of love... I’ll never get over it.

If you’ve been here for a bit, you know I’m forever celebrating the unexpected and non traditional, both in flower and non flower ways.

So if you’re doing something just a bit outside the box or carving a new path for your happiness or freedom, I will be cheering you ON (and creating flowers to MATCH💐)

🌸Planning an event and curious about the names of those flowers you see all over Pinterest?

These are the names (and photos!) of the most requested flowers I get as a florist for weddings and events:

1. Ranunculus- by far the #1 fan favorite. Locally grown in North Carolina in the early spring, but available as an imported flower year round.

2. “Those tiny white daisies” you see are actually chamomile! Perfect for for your pastel or wildflower wedding😍

3. “The hanging green things” are having a moment, but have been used and loved in my work for a decade. Amaranth is so unique and adds something that no other flower can in my opinion!

4. Poppies! Available locally in the spring in North Carolina, but not any other time of the year.

5. Anemones- these have dark blue centers and actually come in other colors, but white is the most common.

6. There are very few naturally blue flowers so many people request delphinium to match a blue color palette. Grown locally in NC in the spring, but imported year round.

7. Garden roses or “ruffly roses” These are 3x the cost of a standard rose

8. Anthurium- also popular at the moment. An imported tropical and the most expensive flower in this list!

Want to make an artist feel like a million bucks? Seek them out- not because of pricing or convenience, but because you love your work and understand their worth.

A mom reached out to me from 1.5 hours away before her daughter was even engaged to book me for her engagement party florals. The inspo was *meeee* and I am thrilled to pull it off next month.

I’ll be channeling this arrangement and a few other similar ones I’ve done this year. Cannot wait🥰
