Today I had the opportunity to put together this charcuterie board for my own dad. From cured meats and cheeses to fresh fruit, crackers, and homemade touches, it was a small way to show my appreciation for everything he’s done over the years.

Homemade gnocchi is one of those simple dishes that proves great food doesn’t have to be complicated. Soft, pillowy potato gnocchi tossed in browned butter, fresh sage, and Parmesan cheese makes for the perfect comfort meal. Save this recipe and give it a try at home!

🥔 Homemade Potato Gnocchi

Ingredients:

* 2 lbs russet potatoes
* 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp salt

For the Sauce:

* 4 tbsp butter
* Fresh sage leaves
* Parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:

1. Boil potatoes until fork tender. Peel and mash until smooth.
2. Let cool slightly, then mix in egg and salt.
3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
4. Divide dough into sections and roll into ropes about ¾-inch thick.
5. Cut into bite-sized pieces and roll over a fork for the classic gnocchi shape.
6. Boil gnocchi in salted water until they float, about 2–3 minutes.
7. In a skillet, melt butter and cook until lightly browned. Add sage leaves and cook until crisp.
8. Toss cooked gnocchi in the butter sauce and finish with plenty of Parmesan cheese.
