How Great Thou Art. This song is a great song example of swapping between your chest and head space singing so you are not shouting to hit notes in the wide range. Why is this a challenging song for vocalists? Breath breath breath control! If you do not have breath control on on that high vowel in the chorus it is easy to strain. Nobody wants to crack so keep your throat relaxed. When singing a hard song like this build build build. So your voice will last the whole song save power for choruses and final verses; start soft! I have some really great students that can hit all the notes but they wear down their ability by trying to go full power the whole time. You can always lower the key if you need to.
