-What is Okie Backyard Battles?
We bring high-energy, kid-friendly gel blaster parties straight to your backyard. No mess, no stress, just nonstop fun! Whether it’s a birthday, team celebration, or just a weekend adventure, our Tulsa-based mobile setup turns any outdoor space into a thrilling battlefield with safe, low-impact gel blasters, inflatable barriers, and a game host to run the action.
-What is a gel blaster? Is it safe for kids?
Gel blasters are toy blasters that shoot soft, water-filled gel beads. They’re low impact and designed for fun, active play. All participants must wear protective eyewear (provided), and we supervise the games to keep everything safe and kid-friendly.
-What ages are appropriate for gel blaster parties?
We recommend our events for kids ages 8 and up, but ultimately it’s up to the parents to decide. Some younger kids can participate safely with supervision and guidance. Adults are welcome to join too—it’s fun for all ages!
-Do you provide safety equipment?
Yes! We provide protective eyewear for all participants and require it to be worn during play. We also go over safety rules before the games begin to make sure everyone plays responsibly.
-Do you come to our location or do we come to you? How far do you travel?
We come to you! We’re a mobile gel blaster party service—we bring all the fun right to your backyard or a suitable outdoor space. We travel within 15 miles of zip code 74137 (Tulsa, OK) at no extra charge. If you’re located farther out, we can still come to you for a travel fee. Not sure about your distance? Just ask—we’re happy to check!
-How much space is needed for a gel blaster battle?
A typical backyard is usually enough! We recommend a space that’s at least 20x30 feet of open, mostly flat ground. If you’re unsure, just send us a photo or describe your yard and we’ll let you know if it’ll work.
-What’s included in a typical party package?
Our party packages include automatic gel blasters for 10 people, ammo, protective eyewear, inflatable barriers, setup, cleanup, and a referee to run the games.
-What should kids wear to a gel blaster party?
The gel beads don’t stain clothes but kids can get messy running around in grass and dirt so we suggest wearing comfortable play clothes like long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Some kids like to wear camo or costumes for extra fun!
-Can adults participate too?
Absolutely! Our events are just as fun for teens and adults as they are for kids. If you want to jump in and battle too, we’ll make sure you’re geared up and ready.
-Does it hurt?
Gel beads are small, squishy and water-filled—so while you might feel a pop when you’re hit, it’s more surprising than painful. It’s more gentle than paintball or airsoft, making it perfect for kids. Wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants can also help to reduce the sting.
-Are photos or videos taken during the event?
We may take photos or short videos during the party for marketing purposes. We always let parents know beforehand and never share images without permission.
-Is cleanup required after the event?
Nope, we take care of it! Gel beads break apart on impact, are biodegradable and dissolve naturally, but we’ll clean up any gear and leftover materials before we leave so you don’t have to lift a finger.
-What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?
Some of our most memorable battles have been sliding in the mud with the rain pouring down! That being said, safety comes first so in the case of lightning or other bad weather we’ll work with you to reschedule your event at no extra cost. We recommend having a backup date in mind just in case.
-How far in advance should I book my party?
We suggest booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date and time, especially during weekends and holidays. Last-minute bookings are welcome if we have availability. We can be flexible with times so send us a message if you don’t see a specific day or time you’d like.
-Is a deposit required to book a party?
Yes, a $100 deposit is required to reserve your event date and time. The remaining balance is due on or before the day of your party. Deposits are non-refundable, but if you need to reschedule due to weather or an emergency, we’ll happily apply your deposit to a new date.
