If you've never met her, you are missing out! This smiling face is incredibly precious to me - we've weathered the ups and downs of our photography businesses together - we've shot side by side at countless weddings - we can literally speak with our eyes and instinctively know where to be and what to shoot working side by side - we get ridiculously excited about light, smiles, poses - and always manage to laugh at our personal struggles together - there is joy in partnership! It's been truly wonderful to have someone to share that journey with! It's her birthday today - if you see her, give her a hug from me! Though separated by miles now - it never feels like it when we get together. Happy Birthday Amber!! When was the last time you updated your profile photo? I am overdue a headshot session! I'll leave the same pic as my profile for YEARS - and then when the grays and winkles clearly state I'm not that girl anymore - I update it. But it's not super professional to show up someplace looking NOTHING like that profile pic! Kyle told me he wasn't looking forward to this but knew he had to do it - and it was painless! Headshot sessions are quick, I help with clothing choices and poses - my jokes are slightly corny but I'm working on that 😂

Fall weakness - comfy sweaters and apple cider donuts!! Also long walks in the crisp air with the dog. (I'm a cat owner but a girl can dream right??) When I'm in New Mexico I get to walk with the dogs - Zappa and Jasper. Briefly attempted to walk Jasper (a large shepherd) on a leash - he literally pulled me out of my shoes! I broke a sandal and had to wrap my tank top around my foot so I could hobble back home. So many bad decisions lead to that moment - attempting the leash, wearing sandals, thinking I could just do a short walk without being distracted by pretty fall leaves. . . when I start walking I just want to keep going - it's very Forest Gump - I want to make it to the waterfall, the next curve, that mountain over there . . . same with photos - just one more! and one more! and then the session is done and you've got more gorgeousness then you could ever post! Thank you Valeria and pup for humoring me!

Styling Tip - sometimes it's just that one accessories that make the photo pop! It doesn't have to be a red dress or yellow hat - a favorite pair of boots or great jewelry can add that personality to your photos! My 12 year old in is at that stage in life where she piles on ALL the accessories - beanie, fingerless gloves, choker (or 3), belt etc - I've tried to explain how the French dress - they dress then remove 1 thing. She dresses then ADDS another - I've taught her nothing. A simple black dress and perfect boots - Maya knows what she's doing!

Brand sessions, portrait sessions, headshot sessions are not one size fits all - light, backdrop selection, clothing choices - all factor in to your final image. I'm always happy to help with styling suggestions! Ike's shoot was in Bisbee - so much history there! We had so many options for a variety of looks this session!

UPDATE - just heard the big news! Ike flew out yesterday - starting his journey with the Air Force! Congratulations!!!Congradulations
