The past 24 hours have been exciting. I look forward to the Allentown Fair every year. So much hard work goes into bringing everyone together for the fair.

Last night, my girl Tiffany Sondergaard | --ts Brand Elevation and I volunteered for Second Harvest Food Bank at Gate 1. Each can donated =$2 off admission. Thank you to everyone for their donations. So fun!

Then I was back at the fair today. I teamed up with Jen from. Blue Zones Project Lehigh Valley to demo a great plant forward recipe. Packed with healing properties, we prepared My Lemon Ginger Vinaigrette in a quinoa salad with chopped summer veg and pickled red onions. Jen was a great sous chef! We loved encouraging the audience to incorporate Blue Zones inspired cooking into their lives. Everyone attending had an opportunity to sample our salad. We had a great turn out. Huge thanks for these beautiful recipe cards. And my bag of swag! I love it.

Thank you, Pat Rice & team, for the incredible effort that makes this such a huge success. I love being a part of the Chef series of the Allentown Fair every year. Love reuniting with everyone.

thank you, Blue Zones of the Lehigh Valley, The Cooking series at the fair & Second Harvest for these exciting opportunities to get involved. Have fun at the fair đź’™

Love is brewing! Congratulations, Abby and Hew. You are so loved!

We had the honor of catering the wedding shower for these two. Because yes! We are catering their micro wedding in November….And we are so excited.

They chose such a fun menu: a baked potato bar. Served with options for a taco bar. Plus all your traditional fixings. I even made a vegan French onion sauce. The trick to the perfect baked potato-clean them well and let them dry. Toss them in your preferred oil and sprinkle with salt, cut a slit in the middle and gently add holes with a fork. Wrap them in foil and bake. These baked potatoes just melted it in your mouth.

The dessert bar was created by the bride to be and her mama. The most beautiful and delicious, gluten-free and dairy free desserts ever! They were very generous to share some of the favors with us. I loved all of the special touches to their celebration. The coffee bar was especially enjoyed by the guests.

Yes, we have begun accepting micro weddings once again. We are one of the featured caterers at the Grist Mill in Hellertown, Fox & Finch studio in fountain Hill, the Painted Petal in Breinigsville, and we love in home private catering, too! We are now booking for 2027. We still have a few dates available in 2026. We would love to create a custom menu with you. We are known for our excellent service, our attention to detail, and our ability to provide a memorable culinary experience. We would love to hear from you.

4 spots opened up. Email Beth asap to snag the last seats. This year’s menu is super fun!

Look for me at 6:30 this Weds at Gate 1 off of 17th Street. Donate canned goods and receive $2 off entry fee. I hope to see you there!

Local Mama will be collecting donations for Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday night at the Allentown fair starting at 6:30 PM. I will go live. If you plan to attend, come visit me! and please bring non-perishable food items. Canned food gets you $2 off admission to the fair. It’s time to check your pantries. Or better yet-Pick Up extras when you are food shopping. If you’re unable to attend, you can donate funds directly on their website.

I learned a lot from volunteering there. Some of the most sought after items:

Shelf stable milk, cooking oil stored in plastic bottles (they prefer not to transport glass stored food items-they tend to break too easily), Mac n Cheese kits, honey, coffee, cake or cookie mix, canned fruit, pb & jelly… please check expiration dates before bringing your donations! Expired food is not accepted. Our communities deserve food stability. It is a human right. Please help however you can!

Thank you, loves. It is a rebellious act to help each other survive. 💪♥️

It was a beautiful evening for a dinner in the garden with Matt & Henry. Their stunning property was the perfect setting for an evening with friends.

They began the evening with a refreshing White Sangria & a charcuterie spread featuring fresh cut peaches with Burrata on toast. Dinner started with a light chopped Summer Vegetable salad. They requested a family style meal: Ratatouille, Lemon Basil Chicken, Saffron Rice with Toasted Almonds, and a seasoned, Baked Tofu. And for dessert: chocolate berry tiramisu cups.

Thank you so much for hiring us. We are very grateful for your kindness and generosity. What an amazing party!!

This is 47.

Some fun facts about me: I love walking barefoot. Especially after it rains. I love the phenomenon of the shadows cast through the trees during an eclipse. I live my life out loud. I was silent once and it almost killed me. My grandson doesn’t care about my double chin. He think it’s fun when I sing to him. My greatest struggle lately is that I really only want to be with him most days and I don’t really want to go to work anymore. But thank God I absolutely love my job. I love cooking for people that I love. I’m very grateful to be able to be very selective with who I work with. It is an honor and a pleasure to be loved by my clients, but it is also a great honor to be loved by their pets. I greatly appreciate being trusted by many people. I have a big giant heart, and I love the whole world, but I also think that we should bring guillotine’s back for evil people. It’s all about balance. I think some of them could be jettisoned off the planet in a nice cold pod, as well. I really hate war- I always have. I’m what you call “ industry taught” I never went to culinary school. I’m very proud that we won Best caterer in 2022 and 2023. But I love my low-key lifestyle right now.

Being a mama is the greatest. But being a Gigi is better. Thank you all for keeping us in business for 10 years now. I’m so excited for all of the adventures ahead. Remember to be your own best friend. Remember to be honest with yourself. I hope I will be remembered for someone who didn’t hold back. Who was strong enough to be a voice for the voiceless. Always seeking answers. Always trying to forgive the people who need extra love because they think they are unlovable. And trying to understand why & how… I will continue being exactly who I am until I leave this earth. I hope you can love yourself even on your worst days. I know I try to.

We have such an incredible community of talented chefs here in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. It is a privilege to call them my friends. In 2024, I had an opportunity to join many of the best -in a project called Yes Chef - Behind the Apron it’s focus is to shed light on the reality of the industry. And I’m the lucky one sitting on my soapbox next to the photo of this guy.

Shawn Doyle. He and his wife run an exceptional restaurant in Macungie on Seisoltzville Rd called the Savory Grille. If you have not already had the chance to dine here, I hope you can make it here one day. It is a very humbling experience. Each dish has so much love and intention.

When Shawn and I were stationed next to each other at the Premier fundraiser for YES Chef! in December of 2024, he shared with me the joy of being a grandfather. Not just a chef. And yes! it truly is a dream come true. The best chefs take their mission very seriously, but we have lives outside of our work. And we make great sacrifices to be able to cherish our time with our families. I respect the amount of effort it takes to create that balance in our lives.

especially, now that I am a grandmother.

We were very grateful to be gifted a certificate, so we snuck a reservation in at the bar-just as the storm began last night.

Frank had their signature Manhattan martini and I enjoyed a delicious lemon ginger mocktail. We sampled four appetizers: the frog legs, the grilled octopus, the lobster over fried green tomatoes, and the penne pasta with beef cheeks. We highly recommend all of them. Then we took dessert home with us. A light orange scented olive oil cake with fresh strawberries, and Chantilly cream. It was a beautiful meal.

I have to say that the best surprise of the evening was when he came out to greet us. He gave me a big kiss on the cheek. After I turned a few shades of red, I said to the Bartender, “Wow. Talk about a chef’s kiss.”

I am incredibly grateful for our community of professionals. I am also selective when choosing who I work with. Our intuition is a helpful tool.

I am reminded of my struggles last summer and how I felt supported by Yes, Chef - Behind the Apron. Thank you, Elaine.

If you are struggling, do not be afraid to ask for help. It may save your life. Xo
