This past weekend, Porchlight brought Edgar’s Odditorium: Macabre Market & Experience to life- our first original public event built completely from the ground up.

What started as an idea inspired by Edgar Allan Poe became a full immersive experience filled with incredible vendors, live music, magic, witches, tarot readings, live art, serpents, a Poe-inspired library, Paint & Sip, photo experiences, themed cocktails, and so much more.

But what made Edgar’s truly special were the people who embraced the weird with us. 🖤

To every vendor, performer, collaborator, crew member, partner, and attendee who helped turn this idea into something real: thank you. Seeing people exploring the Macabre Market, participating in the experiences, singing along during ‘Sad Hour,’ and filling the Main Stage throughout the day made all the months of planning worth it.

Edgar’s Odditorium was an experiment in what Porchlight can create when we go beyond simply planning an event and build an experience.

And after seeing what happened this year… we have a feeling the Raven may return. 🐦‍⬛

Thank you for making the first Edgar’s Odditorium one to remember.

A huge shoutout to DM Slide Acoustic and Bad Habit for running sound and lighting for the entirety of Edgar’s Odditorium: Macabre Market & Experience, and keeping the Main Stage sounding and looking incredible all day long! 🎶

They even performed their own exclusive acoustic set, and were a huge role in bringing the whole event to life. 🖤

Some weddings feel a little extra special, and Natalie & Patrick’s was certainly one of them.

For us, this celebration had two connections especially close to home. Natalie is a fellow event planner, which made being trusted with her own wedding day an incredible compliment. Patrick is a veteran, and as a veteran-owned and operated company, we’re always especially honored when we have the opportunity to serve those who have served.

And we couldn’t have asked for a more fitting backdrop than the historic Keeler Tavern Museum in Ridgefield.

The property’s history stretches back more than 300 years. During the Battle of Ridgefield on April 27, 1777- Connecticut’s only inland battle of the Revolutionary War- British troops fired upon the tavern as they retreated toward the coast. One of those cannonballs remains lodged in a corner post of the building to this day.

The wedding itself took place among the beautiful grounds surrounding the Garden House and historic walled garden. There’s something pretty incredible about celebrating the beginning of a new chapter in a place that has witnessed more than three centuries of stories.
