Happy October 👏

This month always brings an end to one phase and a beginning to another. We are prepping for the great dahlia dig at the end of the month, making sure all the plants have correct tags!

It is also big transition to more studio time, which is always a nice welcome after the busy summertime work flow.

In the Dahlia world, we call certain varieties either a “unicorn” or a “workhorse” Dahlia.

This girl right here is called Fawn and she is HARD to get your hands on. I try and not chase all the unicorn varieties. They are more expensive and tend to not be as good at producing tubers.

However, in my book, Fawn was very much worth it. She is a waterlily variety (they look like peonies) and is a prolific bloomer!

Hi 👋 still here guys!

Since we’ve gotten off the plane from Italy, it has been non stop. We are finally settling back in but we are full speed ahead for planting this week!

We made the decision not to sell any bouquets for Mother’s Day weekend and it was really nice to just take a break. Soaking in all the ranunculus blooms while they’re here!
