Catskills Irish Arts Week
Sunday, July 13th - 7PM

Hello Gang!!!!
The Catskills has a special place in all of our hearts and there is no better week to be in the Irish Alps than the Catskills Irish Arts Week where thousands of people come from all over to come together for an incredible week of music lessons, mighty sessions, set dancing and good ole camaraderie!
We are all looking forward to teaching classes for the week!

The director Paul Edward Keating has invited us in celebration of our 40th Anniversary to launch the festival by performing a special concert at the Michael J Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre. We'll be there Sunday night at 7PM with our gang of musicians, singers and dancers including Joanie Madden, Mary Coogan, Mirella Murray, Kate Purcell, Hannah Collins and Nollaig Casey.

For tickets visit: https://mjqirishcentre.com/mjq-events/

Please spread the word and share this post that we are coming!

Will look forward to this launch where it all began for the Sailors on the Rock, an exemplar of the fabulous creative collaboration aboard the Joanie Madden Folk’N Irish Cruise in February.

Sailors On The Rock

New York, NY – Traditional Irish music enthusiasts will be thrilled with the release of Sailors on the Rock, a captivating new album featuring New York-based talents: accordionist John Nolan, fiddler John Reynolds, and singer-guitarist Bruce Foley (all members of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Mid-Atlantic Region Hall of Fame). This album transports listeners to the heart of Ireland’s musical culture, blending lively tunes and poignant songs echoing an earlier era where the Irish enjoyed dance-halls and ballad rooms.

Sailors on the Rock showcases a dynamic fusion of instruments and styles, with Nolan’s spirited button accordion, Reynolds’ expressive fiddle, and Foley’s heartfelt vocals creating a rich, immersive experience. Each track captures the essence of Irish traditions while also celebrating the unique experiences of the Irish diaspora in America.

Self-produced and critically acclaimed, the album reflects a deep respect for the past while infusing fresh energy into classic melodies. The engaging mix of tunes and ballads invites listeners to enjoy the best of past and present traditional music.

A launch event will be held on Joanie Madden's Folk 'N Irish Cruise during the first week of February, 2025. Join us as we celebrate Sailors on the Rock, a tribute to the enduring spirit of Irish music.

"Three seasoned veterans of Irish music and song - it doesn't get any better" - Joanie Madden.
