Tomorrow I am taking a group of event professionals through Martin Auto Museum. Here is what we are looking for.

When event pros tour a venue, we are not looking at the same things couples look at.

We are thinking about load-in and load-out. Where the vendors stage. How the space flows when it is full of people instead of empty. Whether the parking works for a 150-person event or only looks like it does.

I started the Event Pro Venue Show because I got tired of recommending venues I had only seen in photos.

As a planner, one of the most important things I do for my clients is know the spaces before they ever need them.

What the lighting actually looks like at 6pm. How the sound carries in the main hall. Whether the bridal suite has enough room for a family of six. None of that is in the listing.

The Event Pro Venue Show is a monthly tour for event professionals who want to know their venues the way clients deserve them to be known — in person, with context, and with real questions answered.
