Okay Sprouts… y’all did your thing with this one. 👨🏾‍🍳🔥

Picked up this wild-caught black garlic marinated salmon and fresh broccolini from Sprouts, paired it with jasmine rice, and turned it into a whole fine dining moment at home.

The black garlic marinade already had that rich umami flavor built in, and once it hit the pan? Game over. 😮‍💨✨

This is exactly why quality ingredients matter. You don’t always need to overcomplicate a dish when the foundation is already solid.

As an African American chef, one thing that honestly frustrates me is seeing people call themselves chefs when all they know how to cook is one style of food.

And before anybody gets offended, hear me out.

Being a chef is more than:

* frying chicken
* making mac & cheese
* throwing smoked turkey in collards

A real chef understands:

* flavor profiles
* balance
* techniques
* cultures
* textures
* sauces
* seasoning layers
* proper cooking methods

Versatility matters.

I can cook Southern food, French-inspired dishes, Mediterranean, Asian fusion, Caribbean flavors, upscale brunch, fine dining, and still know how to build flavor from the ground up.

And honestly… some of y’all don’t even know how to properly cook collard greens.
