Dear ‘Weddings With Charity’ Couples,

If you didn’t know, I don’t just care about your wedding day—I also care deeply about your marriage. ❤️

A little behind-the-scenes about me 🥰: My husband and I are passionate advocates for marriage, and we’ve had the privilege of serving as marriage mentors in several different capacities. We’ve experienced some really hard seasons and some incredibly beautiful ones, too. After 26 years of marriage, we’re still committed to one another—and, more importantly, we’re still choosing each other and choosing love, day after day.

✨Because we believe so strongly in the importance of investing in your marriage, we want to put our money where our mouth is!

❤️ Our church (City Church Tallahassee) is hosting a marriage conference on October 10th, and we would love to sponsor three of our previous couples to attend. ❤️ (sorry to my current & future couples… hopefully there will be more opportunities in the future!😉)

This past week we took the show on the road!!! I had the honor of designing, decorating, and coordinating for Heath’s sweet cousin’s wedding, while Heath had the honor of officiating. So, we loaded up and hit the road for Michigan. The weather was PERFECT, and the time spent with family was precious. Congrats Nick & Andrea! ❤️

✨ Next up in our Tips & Advice series… assign tasks ahead of time! 😄

One of the simplest things you can do to make your wedding day run more smoothly is to assign a few trusted people specific responsibilities ahead of time—and make sure your coordinator knows who they are!

Here are a few responsibilities to assign:

🤍 Someone to help call out names during family photos — definitely coordinate this with your photographer!
🤍 Someone to collect your cards & gifts from your coordinator at the end of the night.
🤍 Someone to take any leftover food, cake, and alcohol.
🤍 Someone to make one final sweep of the bridal suite and groom’s room.
🤍 Someone to take your bouquet home.
🤍 Someone to be responsible for anything leaving with you at the end of the night—your purse, overnight bag, phone charger, fresh water bottle, or any other personal items.
🤍 Someone to be responsible for items being taken to your home, like the guest book, cake topper, décor keepsakes, signage, and other personal belongings.
🤍 Someone to oversee your flowers after the reception. Decide ahead of time whether you’d like your arrangements taken home, given to family or guests, donated, repurposed, or discarded, and let your coordinator know the plan.

Most importantly… COMMUNICATE! 😄 Let your coordinator know who’s handling each task.

That way, when the reception is winding down, I know exactly who gets the cards, who takes the food, who’s responsible for your bouquet, and who I should hand your personal belongings to. It keeps the end of the night organized, efficient, and ensures nothing important gets left behind.

A little planning ahead makes for a much smoother ending to an unforgettable day. ✨

✨ Next up in our Tips & Advice series… TRUST THE PROFESSIONALS YOU HIRE! 🤍

Last week we talked about choosing the right vendors. This week, let’s talk about what happens after you’ve found them…

One of the best things you can do during the planning process is trust the professionals you’ve invested in. Every recommendation we make comes from experience—not personal preference.

When I suggest making a change to your timeline, adjusting your layout, or rethinking a detail, it’s because I’m looking at the entire wedding day—not just the decision in front of us.

As your coordinator, I’m constantly considering things like:
✨ How one decision affects every vendor’s schedule
✨ Guest flow and overall experience
✨ Setup and breakdown logistics
✨ Photography lighting and timing
✨ Hair & makeup schedules
✨ Catering and meal service timing
✨ DJ, entertainment, and reception flow
✨ Transportation and parking logistics
✨ Weather backup plans
✨ Keeping your day as stress-free as possible
✨ Preventing delays before they happen

And honestly, I lean on the expertise of the vendors I’m working with, too!! If a florist, photographer, caterer, DJ, or other vendor suggests something, I’m usually going to listen—because they may have more insight into their part of the day than I do. That kind of collaboration is what helps everything run smoothly.

You hired experienced professionals for a reason. Lean on us. Ask questions. Trust our guidance.

Our goal isn’t to make decisions for you—it’s to help you make informed decisions that create the smooth, beautiful, and memorable wedding day you’ve been dreaming of. 🤍

✨ Next up in our Tips & Advice Series… VENDOR CHOICE!! 😍
Choosing your wedding vendors can feel overwhelming. There are so many incredible options in our area, and finding the right fit at the right price can quickly become a daunting task.
‼️Here’s my biggest piece of advice: don’t choose based on price alone.
The least expensive option isn’t always the best value, and the most expensive doesn’t automatically mean the best experience. Instead, look for vendors who: 🤍 Have a portfolio that matches your vision. 🤍 Consistently receive great reviews. 🤍 Communicate well and make you feel comfortable. 🤍 Are reliable, professional, and experienced.
Your wedding vendors will play a huge role in how your day feels—not just how it looks. Surround yourself with people you trust, who genuinely care about making your day everything you’ve dreamed of.
And remember… your planner or coordinator is one of the best resources you have! We work with vendors every week and can often recommend professionals who fit your style, personality, and budget, saving you countless hours of research and stress.
✨ Invest in people—not just services.

Since we’re not in the heart of wedding season, I think it might be time for a little tips & advice series… 🫣❤️

Let’s talk about something that can make or break a wedding day: communication.

Your coordinator wants your wedding day to feel flawless from your perspective. We intentionally take on the responsibility of managing the details, solving problems, and handling the unexpected so you can stay present and enjoy every moment.

But for that to happen, communication is KING. 👑

I need to know everything. Seriously… no detail is too small!

✨ Planning an outfit change? I need to know because it affects your timeline.
✨ Using a friend to cater and it’s their first wedding? I need to know because it changes the conversations we’re having beforehand.
✨ Upgrading from “just the natural garden” to a more elaborate ceremony setup? I need to know in advance because it impacts setup time and staffing needs.
✨ Having a friend bartend? I need to know so we can address potential issues before they become wedding-day problems.
✨ Don’t want to be bothered with questions or decisions on your wedding day? Totally understand! But let’s discuss that in advance so we can designate the right person to handle those conversations.
✨ Planning a surprise during the reception? We LOVE surprises! But your coordinator needs to know so we can make sure everything—and everyone, including your photographer—is ready.

I could go on, but these are just a few examples of situations I’ve encountered that could have been handled much more smoothly with simple communication. (Maybe I should start a “stories” series! 😂)

At the end of the day, I’m on your team. The more I know, the better I can serve you, protect your vision, and make sure your day unfolds exactly the way you imagined.
