✨ ATTENDING AUTHOR ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

If your ideal read includes dangerous magic, slow-burn tension, clever heroines, and a hero who falls first and falls hard, you’re going to want Ashley McLeo on your Lore & Luster radar.

Ashley is a romantic fantasy author whose stories span magical courts, secret covens, deadly quests, spellcasters, and sprawling fantasy worlds, with series including The Winter Court Series, Coven of Shadows and Secrets, The Bonegates, Spellcasters Spy Academy, The Wonderland Court, The Royal Quest Series, and the Starseed Universe.

Off the page, she’s usually reading, traveling, exploring the Pacific Northwest in search of a faerie circle, or taking exercise classes in preparation for the possibility of one day being thrown into a deadly trial.. which feels appropriately on brand.

We’re so excited to have Ashley joining us for Lore & Luster 2027, April 10-11 at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center!

As Beyoncé said, “if you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it.” 💍✨

Well… we really, really like Lore & Luster. So we put a little ® on it.

Lore & Luster® is officially a registered trademark, and while that tiny symbol may not look like much, it means a lot to us!

It has truly been the gift of a lifetime to watch this grow from an idea into community of readers, authors, makers, and small businesses who have helped turn Lore & Luster into something bigger than we ever imagined. Registering the name is one way we can protect the identity of the event we’ve built together and make sure people can clearly recognize what is actually connected to us as we continue to grow.

We also know trademarks have become a pretty big conversation within the bookish community, so we want to be transparent about what this does (and does not) mean.

Our registration is in Class 041 and protects Lore & Luster as the name associated with the services covered by our registration, which are: : Arranging and conducting of business conventions in the field of books,
literature, and entertainment; Arranging, organizing, conducting, and hosting social
entertainment events.

It does NOT mean we own the words “lore” or “luster.” It 100% does NOT mean no one can ever use the phrase “Lore & Luster” in an entirely different context (PS there are some cool jewlery shops with the same name! Check em out!!) And it definitely does NOT mean we are claiming ownership over bookish language, tropes, concepts, or the idea of a book festival.

So yes, Beyoncé told us to put a ring on it. We opted for an ® instead💍🤣

Thank you so much to everyone who has made this event what it is, and we cannot wait see you in 2027!

✨ AUTHOR ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

“The problems might be supernatural, but the solutions are human.”

We’re excited to welcome Kay Zempel to Lore & Luster 2027 🖤

Kay’s path to becoming a paranormal romance author has taken a few turns - from filling notebooks with fanfiction in high school, to earning a PhD in Biochemistry, working in academia, and becoming a medical writer before ultimately finding her way back to fiction.

Today, she’s the author of paranormal romance including The Blood Pack, writing inclusive love stories with disability and mental health representation at their heart.

For Kay, happily ever afters aren’t reserved for one kind of person. Her stories are built around the belief that people deserve to be loved for all the pieces that make them who they are, never in spite of them.

Originally from Southern California and now calling the PNW home, Kay spends her non-writing hours collecting entirely too many hobbies, playing video games, and hanging out with the world’s laziest husky.

We’re so excited to bring her stories and her perspective to Lore & Luster this April. 🖤

✨ AUTHOR ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

Spooky. Emotional. Dark. Romantic.

We’re excited to welcome J.C. Murphey to Lore & Luster 2027!

J.C. is a Texas-based author and longtime storyteller who has spent the last 20 years writing and, in her own words, “stockpiling all sorts of spooky, emotional projects” to unleash on readers.

A lover and writer of dark romance and dark fantasy, her catalog takes readers from grimdark and romantic fantasy to demons, witches, death, shifters, and mafia romance. Her newest release, Fox Hunt, is a slow-burn mafia shifter dark romance featuring fated mates caught on opposite sides of rival mobs.

And while J.C. admits she may seem a little heartless when it comes to ruthlessly torturing her characters, she promises there’s a heart in there somewhere. We’ll let her readers be the judge of that. 👀

✨ AUTHOR ANNOUNCEMENT ✨

Washington. Montana. Germany. Alaska. Tennessee.

When you’ve called that many places home, it makes sense that creating entirely new worlds comes naturally. 🌲🏔️✨

We’re excited to welcome Alex Gordon (aka A. Gordon) to Lore & Luster 2027!

A young adult and new adult fantasy romance author, Alex writes stories where magic, mystery, and romance collide, blending paranormal elements with high-stakes adventures and relationships at the center of it all.

Her inspiration comes from many of the same things that have shaped her own life: travel, mythology, and the natural beauty of the places around her. That sense of exploration carries into books like Rise of the Sirin, Crimson Jewel, and her Darkest Wishes paranormal romance series.

When she isn’t building her next world, Alex is usually much closer to this one, and can be found hiking, fishing, spending time with her husband and two rescued German shepherds (or choosing the equally respectable adventure of dessert on the couch with a murder mystery marathon)

And after all that wandering, we’re especially excited to bring her back to Washington for Lore & Luster!
