Chapter 31 🩷🤘🏽
A little Y2K, a little rockstar, and a whole lotta ME.
31 years around the sun, 4 years sober, still healing, still growing, still standing, and still finding reasons to smile. Alhamdulillah for another year of life. 🥹🫶🏽
Happy solar return to me. 🎂✨

FROM OVERLOOKED TO RECOGNIZED. 🏗️🩷

First-year roofing apprentice. 2026 TradesFutures Rising Leader. One of 11 emerging tradeswomen being recognized, sponsored by Carhartt. 😭🙌🏾

There were days I walked onto jobsites knowing I had to work twice as hard just to prove I belonged there. Days I questioned the journey, but I NEVER questioned the vision. I kept showing up. I kept learning. I kept working. Brick by brick. Layer by layer. 🧱

And now my name and my story are being shared as a woman helping shape the future of the skilled trades. 🥹

But this is bigger than me. I’m doing this for my sons. For the women coming behind me. For every woman who has ever walked onto a jobsite and felt like she had to prove she deserved her hard hat.

I said I wanted to become a foreman who leads with integrity, protects her apprentices, and makes this industry better for the next generation. And I mean every word.

I’m only in my FIRST YEAR. Imagine what Allah has planned for the years ahead. 🥹🤲🏾

Alhamdulillah. This is what happens when you keep showing up even when life gives you every reason not to.

From overlooked to OVERBOOKED.
From apprentice to RISING LEADER. 📈👷🏾‍♀️🩷

And baby… we are STILL under construction. 🏗️🔥

I didn’t choose the trades just for me. I chose them so these two can grow up knowing there is nothing they can’t build, become, or overcome. 🦺💗

Every early morning, every hard day, every room I’ve had to prove I belong in — they are my WHY. I’m not just building a career, I’m building a legacy my sons can stand on. 🏗️✨

Mama got her hard hat on. The foundation is being laid. Generational change is under construction. 🥹💪🏽🦺

They told me the trades weren’t made for women like me… so I put on my pink hard hat and got to work. 💗👷🏽‍♀️

I’m not here just to take up space — I’m here to learn the trade, earn my place, and leave the door wider for the women coming behind me. Every roof, every lesson, every uncomfortable room is building more than my career. It’s building the woman I prayed to become.

Proud Union Roofer. Proud Apprentice. Proud to be Local 195. 💪🏽🔨

The pink hard hat isn’t for decoration, baby. She WORKS. 💗😂
