I sit where no path leads,
where wind forgets its name
and bones remember.
They come to me with questions shaped like fear,
as if the future is a beast that can be tamed if only seen soon enough.
But I do not look forward.
I look down.
Into the soft rot of what was.
Into the gleam of carrion truth.
The crows gather,
not as messengers
but as mirrors.
Each eye holds a different answer.
Each feather, a shadow cast by a choice not yet made.
I see what others dont;
the curve of a broken beak,
the arrangement of wings in dust,
the silence left after flight.
They want comfort.
I offer clarity.
A hard thing,
sharp edged,
cold to hold.
The sky speaks in hunger.
The ground replies in silence.
And in between,
I sit.
Dark clad.
Unblinking.
Not a prophet,
but a threshold.
Not a voice,
but the place it echoes through.
