Getting everything ready for her baby chicks as she begins her Pullet Chain journey with 4-H right here in Dorchester County 💚 From setting up her brooder to learning responsibility, patience, and hard work—this is what it’s all about.

Programs like 4-H give kids hands-on experiences that build confidence, life skills, and a real connection to where their food comes from. So proud of her for jumping in and learning something new!

Can’t wait to watch her grow alongside her flock 🐓🌱

You know those nights when you’re juggling homework help, bath time, and the dishwasher that somehow always needs to be unloaded? 😅
That was me … when I stumbled onto Gumbo House Express, the local Summerville hidden gem I didn’t know we needed.

I ordered takeout (because that’s all they do — bless 🙌), and it showed up on DoorDash faster than I could convince my daughter to find her pajamas. The menu is full of cozy comfort food — gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp & fried fish, lobster mac n cheese, po’boys, honey cornbread, seafood rice 🤤… all the things that make the house smell like someone has been cooking all day when we absolutely have not. 🤭

Adding this one to my mom-wins list forever. 🤎✨

Exploring history right here in our own backyard!

We spent the day at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island, and wow - the amount of history packed into this place is incredible. From Revolutionary War battles to World War Il, every corner of this fort tells a story.

Here’s a fun tip for families:
4th graders get FREE access to all National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands for a whole year through the Every Kid Outdoors program.
Such a cool way to make history come alive for them!

Plus, don’t miss the Junior Ranger program - it’s completely free! Kids can complete fun activities during their visit and earn an official Junior Ranger badge.
