Star City Candy Crawl is a direct response to widespread disappointment across social media regarding the lack of door-to-door Trick-or-Treating here in Star City. Parents expressed their disappointment, highlighting what Halloween was like for many of us as children. Parents are grateful for the Trunk-or-Treat event, but miss that old Halloween feel and I HEAR YOU, STAR CITY!
The day after Halloween I read so many similar posts that my heart broke. As a lover of Halloween and a proud Auntie who loves to see my babies smile, I knew I had to do something. Initially my fiancé and I built a rough-draft of an app. While it turned out great, we realized we would then need to be another to make the app equally accessible to Apple AND Android. This meant more time and with limited experience building Apple application, we scrapped the idea.
Then the idea of simplicity struck and we decided to build an online hub where households in Star City can sign-up for Trick-or-Treaters for the Star City Candy Crawl. Star City Candy Crawl will take place ON HALLOWEEN and there will be a cut-off time to register your household. After that cut-off time, a map and route will be generate to ensure your family's Candy Crawl is stress-free and most importantly, FUN.
