Praying for the families and staff at New City School!
Dear New City Community,
In light of the devastating tornadoes that impacted the Central West End, North St. Louis, and other parts of the area last night, we have made the difficult and necessary decision to postpone our 55th Anniversary Celebration & Auction, scheduled for tonight, May 17th. We are grateful for the candid insights and support of the Board of Trustees and our 55th Anniversary Celebration & Auction co-chairs, with whom we made this decision collaboratively.
This was a challenging decision to make. At the very least, many of our families are still without electricity. More seriously, many of our families have experienced devastating damage to their homes and property. There is the possibility of a City curfew tonight, and many roads are still difficult to traverse.
We are working to identify a new date for the celebration and will share updated details as soon as they are confirmed. All tickets, sponsorships, and donations will be honored for the rescheduled event.
In the meantime, we encourage anyone in need of support—or anyone wishing to assist those in our community who have been impacted—to reach out to us at [email protected]. Our community is strong, and we know that by coming together, we will emerge even stronger. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this storm and the safety and well-being of our students, families, staff, and neighbors remain our top priority as we begin to assess the damage and support recovery efforts in our community.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support of New City School. We look forward to celebrating with you soon—when the time is right.
Edited to add: As a follow-up, we want to let you know that the silent auction, raffle, and sign-up parties are also being temporarily suspended at this time.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through this evolving situation and determine a new date for the event.
Thank you for your continued support of New City School and for standing together as a community during this time.
