The time has come to call it the end!
T & A CAFÉ will be closing the end of July due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
We tried opening this year when all this crap started. To be able to help the truck drivers that we had become friends with over the past thirty years. Many of our regular truck drivers never really showed up. We were able to get some of our local supporters back, which helped us thru the last few months.
This last shut down put the nail in the coffin. We cannot survive doing take out or patio dining.
When we opened in April our sales were 30% of last year, we built it up to 60% of last year in the last month, we thought we could make work. We are now back down to 40% of last year. We have no idea how long this will last. From what I can tell it will last the rest of the year.
We love you all, but we don’t like working for free.
Maybe if I was 30 I would fight to make it, but I’m not, I don’t have the energy or patience to deal with it anymore.
Cheryl & I have shed a lot of tears & laughs over this decision. We’ve had a lot of good times and a few bad times over the years, but life is good. We will miss all of the friends we have made over the last 30+ years, not seeing them on a regular basis. We have made friends from Spreckels, Salinas, Seaside, Monterey, Carmel, Gonzales, Croatia, Ukraine, New Zealand, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Vancouver, Canada Eh, Cuba and I’m sure many more places. We want to thank all of you who have come to support us not only since April. But over the last 30 years.
We will be winding things down over the next month & riding into the sunset (or fog).
We will still be around as Contemporary Catering. We hope to be doing Pop up Pizza Parties, Paella Parties or just ol Burger & fries
When it is not against the law! Hope to see you all soon, Be Safe!

Very nice introduction for the Brosseau Wine event.

We are thrilled to announce the attendance of our esteemed chef, Don Ferch, at our upcoming Saturday April 27th vineyard tour and luncheon.

Don launched his career as Executive Sous Chef at the Disneyland hotel. Thereafter he started the move north, as Executive Chef of the historic El Paseo Restaurant in Santa Barbara. Then some years later, relocated to Monterey County as Executive Chef at the famed Highlands Inn. He has received critical acclaim from Travel holiday, Gourmet magazine, San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Times among other food press. Don was also the founding Chef and organizer of the Master's of Food & Wine held annually at the Highlands Inn. Thereafter in 1988, he and his wife Cheryl launched their own business, Contemporary Catering, turning dreams into reality!

Don comes to us as a veteran chef who loves fine food and wine. He and Cheryl are intimately familiar with our iconic estate and the ultra premium wines that hail from it. He, Cheryl, and Bill have thoughtfully crafted a splendid fusion of all of their talents surrounding the beautiful wines of Brosseau Vineyard.
