Next month, we’re celebrating 2 years of GEG — two years of community-building, high-level Commander, Battle City events, new friendships, and pushing cEDH forward locally. To celebrate, we’re partnering with Dragon Parlor Games to host something special:

A welcoming introduction to Competitive Commander
If you’ve ever been curious about cEDH but thought:
“It looks intimidating.”
“I don't know anyone who plays cEDH.”
“My deck probably isn’t good enough.”
“Those games look fast for me to have fun.”
This event is specifically for you.
🧩 Learn to Play Session
We will have a guest panel (to be announced) that will go over the following questions and more!
What makes CEDH different from casual Commander?
Deck construction philosophy at a competitive level.
How priority and stack interaction actually work in real games.
Common win conditions and how to recognize them.
Table communication and etiquette at competitive pods.
Questions are encouraged. Pausing is allowed. We’re here to grow the player base — not gatekeep it. Whether you’re brand new, have played for a few months, or are a long-standing player in the GEG community, we want YOU to show up to this event!
⚔️ Optional On-Demand CEDH Event
After the learning session, we’ll fire an event for those who want to jam real games.
Entry: $5
Rounds: 2
Structure: Round Robin (Akin to an actual CEDH event)
This portion is competitive play — tight games, clean communication, and good reps.
For those who participate, there will be additional random prizes provided for this event.

You are absolutely welcome to attend the Learn to Play and skip the event. However, the event afterwards is designed for you to actually get reps in with players of our community, make connections, and get some first hand real experience.
🎒 What to Bring
A Commander deck you enjoy, we will use this to help deckbuild, give ideas, and see if there is a deck that matches your playstyle. This event is full proxy friendly, including paper slips in front of magic cards!!! (Consider using EDH top 16 to find a list you like and print it out!)
