Destination weddings come with magic and a few extra moving parts.

Planning a wedding always has moving pieces, but a destination celebration adds a whole new layer of logistics and nuance. A couple of weeks ago, we wrapped an incredible 11‑month planning journey with K & M for a full wedding weekend on San Juan Island filled with joy, intention, and unforgettable moments.

From a welcome party on the beach with lawn games, to a cliffside ceremony, a historic reception venue, and a late‑night after party… watching their favorite people celebrate together, all weekend, was pure magic and celebrating with these two was a joy and reminder why we do this!

Destination weddings require a planner who can research, vet, interview, and build rapport with local vendors while also bringing in trusted traveling partners. We ensure every vendor meets the mark…reputation, delivery, communication, and alignment with your vision.

San Juan Island has its own unique considerations: transportation to and around the island, accommodations, ferry timing, "island time" and curating activities that showcase the beauty of the PNW. We’re here for all of it.

Wow, as America celebrates 250 years, Celebrated Gatherings & Events is celebrating a milestone of our own: one full year in business. What a year it has been.

From meeting sweet couples to designing unforgettable moments, celebrating births, birthdays, bridal showers, and corporate events, this first year has stretched me, shaped me, and reminded me exactly why I stepped into entrepreneurship. Being a solopreneur has taught me more than I ever imagined.

A few things I’ve learned:
• Community Support: Fellow business owners show up, cheer loudly, and walk beside you.
• Time Tradeoffs: Working for yourself doesn’t always mean more free time, but it does mean more purpose.
• Client Gratitude: Every client is a gift, and even when gratitude isn’t reciprocated, the work still matters.
• Experience vs. Entrepreneurship: Decades of planning and corporate work can’t fully prepare you for operations, taxes, and the tiny details of owning a business.
• Authenticity Matters: Leading with heart helps couples feel seen and builds lasting vendor relationships.
• Growth & Grace: Growth arrives with gratitude, lessons, and surprises you never expect.

As I step into Year Two, my heart is full. Thank you to the beautiful couples, incredible corporate and private clients, and the vendors who have trusted, supported, and collaborated with me. You’ve helped Celebrated Gatherings & Events create a footprint that’s now allowing me to expand my team and enter 2027 with hope, inspiration, and a renewed commitment to serve even more clients.

If our paths crossed this year, thank YOU. Your trust, encouragement, and support have poured into this dream in ways words can barely express.

Multicultural magic: Multicultural weddings are pure magic, and we delivered this PNW celebration. From meaningful ceremony moments to a menu infused with Asian‑fusion flavors (hello mango citrus + ahi poke starters), every detail reflected the couple’s heritage.
