In honor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center wedding we just had this past weekend, I wanted to highlight a previous Torpedo Wedding.

I love when couples break away from tradition and follow their own rules and expectations when planning their wedding. If you want to do something a bit different for your big day, I highly encourage you to go for it.

In June 2022, we had the honor of supporting a wonderful couple who followed their hearts to create a semi-nature-themed wedding. Because they love hiking and staying active, they wanted to incorporate shades of green, blue, and purple along with natural scenery.

Here are a few unique ways they customized their wedding day with the help of an amazing vendor team:

* The bride wore a beautiful light green dress from Maison Estrella and The Stylist Abroad completed her look with flawless hair & makeup.

* They used Botanical PaperWorks for their recycled paper invitations.

* They joined their guests during cocktail hour (we made sure they had lunch earlier in the day and a private moment to themselves with appetizers and their signature drink after the ceremony). Their signature drink was a French 75 by Vola's Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge. Catering was by Caribbean Caterers.

* They used eco-friendly products throughout the wedding, including floral rentals by Something Borrowed Blooms and rentals from Party Rental Ltd.

I am so honored to have supported them on their wedding day.

One of my favorite parts of wedding planning is researching and touring venues.

These venue tours are essential for me to gain a comprehensive understanding of a space’s capabilities and logistical requirements. I consider everything from guest capacity and ADA accessibility to wedding party suites and weather contingency plans. By gathering these specific details, I can design and plan a couple's wedding day that is tailored to the unique features of the venue and the couple's vision.

I enjoy events at the Omni Shoreham; they offer such a versatile range of spaces for weddings.

I started Grace And Virtue Events because I truly love planning meaningful celebrations and supporting clients through one of the most important seasons of their lives. I have a natural passion for logistics, timelines, and details, paired with a love for creativity, thoughtful design and overall experience. Planning has always come naturally to me, and I find purpose in bringing every moving piece together with care and intention.

I know wedding planning can feel overwhelming at times. My role is to support you through a structured planning journey and guide you step by step, from our very first conversation through your celebration itself. From vendor coordination to timelines and logistics, I’m always thinking ahead so you can feel calm, confident, and supported throughout the planning process.

At the start of September, our client proposed at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, VA. After offering a few location suggestions, the client chose this stunning venue, which they had been planning to visit all summer.

We reserved the Stone Ledge for the proposal and a pergola to enjoy w**e and charcuterie afterwards. Family and friends arrived to witness the proposal from inside, surprising the couple with their presence shortly after the proposal and a ch*****ne toast.

Charles from Carrington Visuals beautifully captured photos of this proposal, and you’d never guess it was raining most of the time!
