THE POWER OF NOW: Living in Truth
There was a time when I spent a lot of energy thinking about how I’d be remembered after I’m gone. I used to worry about legacy, what people might say, and how my name would carry on. But as I’ve grown and lived a little more, I’ve come to understand something simple and freeing:
I won’t be here to witness any of that.
And the truth is, people will always have something to say—good, bad, or indifferent. That’s human nature. So instead of chasing what they might say when I’m gone, I’ve shifted my focus to what I’m doing while I’m still here—especially for myself.
Too many of us spend years pouring into others, putting ourselves last, staying quiet to keep the peace, or twisting ourselves to be palatable and acceptable. We give and give… only to wake up one day and realize most people are temporary. Many relationships are transactional. And when the benefits stop, so does the loyalty.
It’s a hard pill, but a necessary one.
So here’s my truth: yes, do good. Be kind. But don’t forget you. Don’t lose yourself trying to be everything for everyone.
Live in your truth. Speak from your heart. Go after what lights you up—unapologetically. You don’t need permission to be happy. You don’t have to shrink to be loved.
You owe it to yourself to fully live. Not just leave something behind—but be something now 💜🌞
