The name is inspired by the biblical story of a woman created from man’s rib, symbolizing strength, unity, and divine partnership. For us, it reflects not just our love for each other, but also our shared passion for food, community, and culture. The RiB Bone is our labor of love – built from the ground up, side by side. Born during the challenging times of 2021 and hitting the road in 2023, The RiB Bone is a dream turned reality. With over 25 years of combined culinary experience, we bring history, soul, and authenticity to every dish. Edward honed his skills as head chef at his family’s beloved Dayton, Ohio restaurant, MaryAnn’s Southern Kitchen, rooted in the deep flavors of Homer, Louisiana. Kareta carries the powerful legacy of her grandmothers – legendary cooks who nourished and uplifted during the Selma civil rights marches. At The RiB Bone, we do more than cook – we create moments. 💔 To Our Loyal and New Customers 💔

Yesterday, The RiB Bone's mobile food trailer was struck and damaged by a drunk driver. We’re incredibly grateful to share that everyone involved walked away safely—that’s the most important blessing.

Unfortunately, the trailer itself was badly damaged and is now unsafe to operate from. But if you know us, you know that The RiB Bone is built on love, faith, and resilience.

This setback won’t stop us. We refuse to let it.

💪🏽 We are committed to continuing to serve up our signature 5-star Southern cooking with that Louisiana flair you know and love.

🔥 You can still find us at 738 Madison St Shelbyville Tennessee while we work through repairs and recovery.

Late post.
This past weekend The RiB Bone had the honor of participating in the BBQ Shining Light competition and fellowship. Being the new kids on the block amongst Giants, locals and vets The RiB Bone took third place in the overall competition. We also placed first in the cabbage competition (that Jamaican cabbage is nothing to play with). Once the competition was over the grill Masters continued to cook and feed the entire community. Yes, a time was had. Looking forward to next year's competition and seeing our newly made friends. Thank you Shelbyville for welcoming The RiB Bone with open arms. 🫶🏿

We heard you were looking for us. Well we are looking for you too. The Rib Bone will be at Veterans Memorial Park in La Verne Tennessee today for their Independence day celebration. Details attached. Please come out and enjoy family fun music and good food and of course the fireworks celebration. The Rib Bone will be serving turkey legs, rib tips, rib bone street corn and baked beans. We will also have a Rib Bone kids meal for the little ones. We look forward to seeing you there. 🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆

The event consists of fireworks, a free concert, and other fun activities.
