You can design the crispest stage setup and bring in world-class speakers, but the real magic of an event happens in the quiet, head-to-head conversations at the tables.

Last week's Roadshow at Purdue University was a great reminder: while we were all there to talk about the future of technology, the foundation of every major breakthrough is still real human connection. You can see it in these event pics.

As an event producer, my goal isn't just managing logistics. It’s intentionally building spaces where people lean in, listen, exchange ideas, and build real trust. AI is transforming how we work, but the power of bringing people into the same room will never change.

Sneak peek 👀 showed up for last month's IN Roadshow at Biltwell Event Center!

Behind every smooth event is a team sweating the details so guests don't have to. That's where a good event partner comes in, handling logistics so the focus stays on connection and content, not chaos.

Kuhn Event Management is proud to have partnered with CEOs of Indiana Corporate Partnership to bring this one to life.

Next Roadshow Stop 👉 Greater Lafayette on August 25. Come see us! Link for more info in the comments.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." — Mahatma Gandhi

This fall, I'm asking my network to lend a few hours to something that changes lives.

On October 24, Kuhn Event Management is once again partnering with the Indiana Blind Children's Foundation, as they host their annual Through the Looking Glass Gala — a night that funds real programs helping Indiana youth who are blind or have low vision thrive.

We're looking for volunteers to help with event setup and on-site logistics — no experience necessary, just a willingness to show up and be part of something meaningful.

🎉 Happy 2-Year Anniversary to Ivy Hospitality ! 🎉

Two years ago, Kuhn Event Management and Ivy Hospitality kicked off a partnership that's honestly been such a pleasure. Watching this team grow, innovate, and keep raising the bar in hospitality has been so fun to be a part of.

Congrats on this milestone, Ivy Hospitality! Here's to the vision and hard work that got you here, and to even bigger things ahead.

I'm already excited for what's next, including teaming up on the 2027 EDGE Leadership Conference. Stay tuned, to find out the location soon! 👀

Cheers to two great years and many more to come. 🥂

Pro-tip for your next corporate event: People will forget the slides, but they will never forget how your event made them feel. 🚀

Engagement doesn’t happen by accident. It’s entirely dictated by the environment you create. Whether it’s the welcoming flow of the signage, the accessibility of your tech (like the table QR codes we used here), or the way you present your branding—every tiny detail dictates how your guests feel and interact.

Loved managing this workshop and designing a space where people felt comfortable enough to let their guard down, ask big questions, and truly connect.

Quick question for the network: Think about the best professional event you’ve ever attended. What was it about the atmosphere that made you feel welcome and engaged? Let me know below! 👇

Last week, Kuhn Event Management had the privilege of producing the Indianapolis stop on Anthropic's 10-city Claude SMB Workshop tour, co-hosted with CICP, TechPoint, Conexus Indiana, and AgriNovus Indiana.

The workshop gave local small business owners a real, hands-on look at what AI can do for them: live demos of Claude in action, followed by interactive sessions where attendees got to roll up their sleeves and apply what they learned to their own businesses. It wasn't a sit-and-listen event — it was a room full of entrepreneurs actively testing tools that could change how they operate, market, and grow.

I'm grateful to Anthropic and the co-host partners for trusting me to help deliver this experience to Indiana's small business community. Seeing local entrepreneurs leave energized and equipped with new tools is exactly why I love this work.

5 things clients never think about, but that event planners think about constantly:

1. The load-in sequence --> The order in which vendors arrive on site determines whether the day runs smoothly or becomes a game of Tetris in a loading dock. It matters more than most people realize.

2. The backup vendor --> Not every vendor needs a backup. But the critical ones do. Power, AV, catering. Know your call before you need it.

3. Weather (yes, even indoors) --> HVAC failures, unexpected heat, a venue that gets stuffy with 500 people in it. Comfort is invisible when it works. It's all anyone talks about when it doesn't.

4. The quiet guests --> The loudest attendees will tell you what they need. The quiet ones will just leave (and tell their colleagues later). Great events are designed for both.

5. The 10 minutes after it ends --> What happens when the room clears? Who's confirming the vendor strike, collecting client property, and locking in the post-event debrief? The last 10 minutes are where a lot of details fall through the cracks.

At Kuhn Event Management, these aren't afterthoughts. They're on the checklist before the client ever signs the contract.

What would you add to this list? 👇
