The Posse was obviously a bit rusty with the time off, but we were fortunate enough to walk at least once on stage. Had a great time at Worlds and looking forward to rolling more smoke in 2025! BTW, was not the smartest idea to try new flavors on the wings for this one! Great to see alll of or BBQ friends!! Congrats to all those who had their names/numbers called!

For me, Memorial Day has always been synonymous with the start of summer, throwing something on the grill and having a day of leisure with friends and family, and apparently the best time to buy a new mattress.

However, the true meaning of this day is to remember all of those brave souls who have paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting on behalf of our great country. The cost of freedom is real and today is the day to pay homage to those who paid that price for us!

On a day dedicated the remembrance of those brave men and women, I’m also appreciate of those folks who have helped, inspired or supported our BBQ journey.

Got in the pantry and pulled out some of our favorite and home grown rubs from our buddies to flavor up these spatchcock beauties!

Cooking in a car wash parking lot was a first, but we fed about 300 folks and dodged the rain! A little different than comp cooking, but still takes a team effort, even if one is only 6 years old.

Thanks to Lance and all his boys for setting up this community giveback and supplying the meat. Thanks to Zac for helping with the set up! And Thanks to Zac for providing the fuel and rubs!

We hope everyone enjoyed their free car washes and BBQ. It was good getting to meet some new people and talk a little BBQ.

We came, we cooked, we got some calls and most importantly didn’t lose a tent! The posse had a great time highway 62 cook off in Nicoma Park. Special thanks to our family and especially our bro-in-law for helping us out this weekend.

Here are our results
Friday night
Rib Burn 5th
Sip & Bite 9th -mango margarita’s and stuffed Poblanos (messy AF, but tasted good) sorry judges!

Saturday
3rd Ribs
7th Brisket
Chicken- IDK yet, no call and waiting on results. Tried something a little different, but not sure where these fat thighs missed
5th OVERALL

Thanks to Kristi, Melissa and all the other volunteers who made this a contest one that we will do again.

Congrats to everyone who heard their name called and for the RGC- great cooking next to you. I’ll send you a bill for the cooler rental :) and for the GC!
