This weekend I had the opportunity to help out my Friends at and serve whole hog for them while they were away at Memphis in May landing an 8th place in the world whole hog!

Curtis, with did an awesome job on cooking his first hog. This was an awesome time hanging out with the bbq family and supporting people who support our team so much!

Finally landed back in the sunshine state after competing at the 2025 Smokin' In The Creek BBQ Contest. Managed to win the award for the “team furthest traveled.” Packed a suitcase cooler with the best meat from Sweet Meat Butcher Shop and flew it to Kansas City!

Had a solid cook landing 17th overall against some of the best cooks in the Midwest. Results as follows.

23 - Chicken
9 - Prairie Fresh Ribs
7 - Prairie Fresh Pork (1st at table)
34 - Brisket (out of touch with smoker)

Home from the Hillsborough County Back porch Jam. Had a blast and a great cook in what felt like the hottest weekend ever. Got to hangout with all our BBQ buddies this weekend and host an after party or awards pregame with some Blue Chair Bay Rum. We were good for a 6th place finish against some great cooks! Congrats to Tillmans BBQ on the GC!

It has taken half this week to get over the results received at the Lakeland Pig fest. Overall this contest was a great time at an awesome venue, but the results didn’t land in our favor. Fortunately scores were extremely high all across the board and for us, a couple of 8s ruined our weekend. Ribs were a heartbreaker after getting a 180 with this exact box and two weeks later that is your worst category… brisket was lost at the cutting board but still scored good excluding a sloppy appearance.

Overall we were 24 of 40 some great teams!

I am finally back from the 2025 jimmyjambbqslam this was a cold and wet weekend but a great time getting to cook with friends at Cold Beer BBQ Competition Team and Sweet Meat Butcher Shop and my “fans” coming to hangout on Saturday.

Had an excellent cook out of my brand new comp rig, with an 8th place finish against the best teams in the southeast. I was good for a 1st place Rib call with a #180 I have been struggling in this category and finally nailed down what apparently was the best rib on someone’s plate that day 😎. The rest of the scores are as follows. Looking forward to getting back at it in just two weeks.

19th - Smart Chicken
1st - Prairie Fresh Ribs - perfect perfect 180
28 - Prairie Fresh Pork
8th - Snake River Farms Brisket (1st at my table)
