Had a chance to escape the Florida heat for a weekend and make it up to the City of Shawnee, KS Government BBQ competition, at the hometown cook.

For flying into these there always has to be issues, like missing your flight to kc and going a day later 🤡.

Cook was good for:
7th - Springer Mountain Farms
12th - Prairie Fresh ribs (1st on table)
13th - 🐷
10th - Abattiranch Wagyu Brisket

All good for 6th overall out of 66 teams with a 702.24 congrats to Dr. Squealgood BBQ on GC and Brew N’ BBQ on RGC and everyone else that heard their names called!

Back at the airport after an in and out contest to the Paola Roots Festival Wes and his team did a great job putting this on.

Was not happy with this cook at all, but the best meat was put in the box and everything got turned in. I was expecting to sit on my hands the entire awards. But flying those Sweet Meat Butcher Shop meats is always good luck! We won every table except brisket, second on the table.

11th - Chicken
2nd - Prairie Fresh Ribs
2nd - Prairie Fresh Pork
16th - Abattiranch Wagyu - Brisset

We were lucky enough to hear our names called 3 times for a 4th overall finish out of 31 teams! Congrats to Wood Hook BBQ on the GC and Go Pig Or Go Home on RGC!
