I’m almost never in front of the camera, but sometimes the behind-the-scenes moments deserve their own little spotlight.

During Laila’s senior session, her aunt Kim caught these photos of me doing what I love. She sent them to me later, and I can’t lie… they made my heart so happy.

Most days I’m focused on lighting, posing, angles, and making my seniors feel confident and seen. I forget that this is what it looks like from the outside. Creating memories at golden hour, climbing over driftwood, chasing the perfect light, and giving my clients portraits that feel true to them.

Thank you, Kim, for capturing me in my element. It’s rare for me to be on this side of the lens, but I’m so thankful for these little reminders of why I love what I do.

This one is extra special because it includes my daughter. When work and church create friends who are like family. My daughter works with me, she is in the nursery and watches my friend/boss/teaching partner's girls. These girls are so special to me. The oldest was in my class last year, so I was a friend first, then a teacher. I'm Kristie, Ms. Kristie, (miss) Kris Kris, and more recently when Bella told JJ to bring something to Auntie Kristie, she said "can I call you Auntie Kristie too?" I said yes if that is okay with your mom. Mom said yes, like me, she also grew up with friends who she called aunt and uncle. The youngest is adorable too, and has developed the biggest personality. It makes my heart so happy that when she sees me she comes running up for a hug.

🍁 Seattle in autumn never disappoints - and Kubota Garden is pure magic this time of year! From fiery reds to golden yellows, every corner feels like stepping into a painting.
This senior session was filled with laughter, crisp air, and cozy sweater vibes... the perfect way to capture such an exciting milestone. ✨
Talking about Kubota Gardens the other day, and showing a client the vibrant colors, I knew I needed to share some images from this session.

We did preschool photos at Fairwood Christian Preschool this past month, and while I can't share the photos of the kids, I had to share the adorable background I set up. The brick looked so real. It was also a last minute switch up, because my chalkboard background somehow faded (even though it was in a dark cabinet)

Sliding in during the final hour... one year ago I was honored to photograph my little cousins wedding. It was such a beautiful day. The most special part of the day for me personally, was witnessing and capturing all of the emotions during the first looks with the parents, siblings and bride and groom.
