TRYIN SUMPTHIN FANCY… TRYIN SUMPTHIN NEW! I made this Beautiful BY REQUEST Flower arrangement!!! AND then I had to hurry home from the “Creation Station” and get ready …. because, one of my very best, dear friends from high school, Kim Kellogg Harrison and I decided we would try … The Ballet. Something outside our comfort zone!! SWAN LAKE actually. We decided to step outside Mercer County a little bit. Thought we’d head to the BIG city of Davenport! Thot we’d be FANCY. So, we put on some “fancy” clothes, we went to a “fancy” restaurant for dinner, and THEN we went and watched our very first fancy BALLET with a LIVE Orchestra and everything! We decided we like being fancy, classy ladies attending the ballet!

Hey, we sure had a good time!! Laughs, stories, stories, memories, stories! A VERY GOOD TIME.

Welp! Here is a “1st” in the HOBBY known as Wildflowers by Dawn! I was in the creation station today which I love very very much. Side note, I got a really cute antique looking radio and it just made all the difference! I put it on 96.1 and it plays all the 80s music, my PERSONAL favorite .. MADONNA, “papa dont preach”. Especially when she gets that throaty “Plaaaaa-eeeez” singing at the TOP of lungs and dancin around in my pink apron and flower snips as a microphone!! Anyway. Productive day. THIS ONE! It is smaller but beautiful for a peach bathroom. (Bathrooms deserve to be beautiful like any other room! “”) And as a 1st …. 1st time since this whole thing started, I PUT A BOW ON IT!!! Pretty cute! Might do that every so often. What fun. Anyway, this one was really pretty AND it had a bow!

“COLLECTORS ITEM FOR SALE!” 1st official arrangement from the new CREATION STATION! I have several special requests ( which I promise to tackle next week! PROMISE!) and I’m waiting on some special flowers to be delivered on a few of them, …… SO, I decided I would give a “THANKSGIVING CENTERPIECE” a try! And I love the whole … how about an arrangement in a PUMPKIN thing. YUP! TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL. Love it!! This picture was at sunset and it still looks amazing. It goes ALL THE WAY AROUND. Perfect for the center of your table or island. Holiday, well, ok, but THIS ONE can stay up year round! THANKSGIVING, right around the corner! I would love to dress up your Thanksgiving table! I HAVE A “Creation Station”! Thats what Danny came up with! Thanks to YOU GUYS my HOBBY has outgrown my extra bedroom, so, THANK YOU JORDAN CLARK! To the rescue. (This is NOT a retail space). Its just an awesome place where I can CREATE! I spent my 1st day in there today. It is PERFECT! I love it! Thank you Danny Bergen for putting together alot of shelving, transporting everything and just letting me do something that makes me so happy! Everything is organized and NOW, I can catch up on Special Requests and bring to life some fun CHRISTMAS IDEAS I am excited to try. Fall Fest and Holly Days is right around the corner!! AND, SPECIAL ORDERS for THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS are WELCOME!! Bring the vessel or as you can see, I have plenty!

MY “PRACTICE BABY!” LOL!! Back in 1991, I fell in love with “Dylan Bergen” WAYYYY BEFORE I fell in love with Danny Bergen! Dylan and I, we connected. I loved (still do very much!) that little boy and he loved me! I was in college when Danny and I met. Down at SIU. 6 hours ONE WAY! I came back EVERY WEEKEND to see that little boy!!! (his dad thinks I came to see him, nope, it was Dylan.) He was 1 and a half. We played and baked and cuddled and laughed! We potty trained over my Thanksgiving break 1991!! We drove a million miles back and forth from Bettendorf to Aledo and talked about EVERYTHING! Dylan taught me, helped prepare me, without either of us knowing, how to be a “mom”. I felt UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for the 1st time in my life from that little boy! He changed me. He was my “Practice Baby”! Tonight that beautiful boy and his husband Joseph, as well as Brynn Shields , Austin and Gideon came for a wiener roast and THIS PICTURE of him holding Gideon made my heart swell. The first time I held my “practice baby” I could never dreamed THIS moment would come. Tonight was special. Tonight was a memory I will treasure!
Oh, and he dropped off the silver vase for me to fill!!

WHY I BECAME A “FLORIST”! (If that’s whatcha wanna call me!)  I have a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful daughter Brynn Shields and a wonderful son-in-law Austin. Last December, they blessed us with an amazing gift! A perfect and absolutely adorable grandbaby named Gideon! Brynn is a School Teacher and when she went back to work I was blessed to be able to be home and watch Gideon every day. Well, the school year ended and Brynn decided she was NOT going back to teach, she was going to stay home. Therefore I had time on my hands.  Danny said you HAVE to find something to do and I said, What? And he said “make flowers”, so I did. This is the third arrangement I did as an official “florist” LOL! It’s one of my favorites.

“PRETTY as a PITCHER”! Ha! This was a creation that got me one of the best compliments I ever got! He messaged me, said she loves daisies, would I deliver. SURE! Saw him a few weeks later. How did she like them. Loved them. HE JUST DID NOT REALIZE MY CREATIONS WERE “Forever in Bloom”, Not “real”, they were just REALLY REALLY LOOK REAL arrangements!! He FOLLOWED ME, still DOES. He said, “ oh, now I get Forever - in - Bloom!” LOL!
