Part II of our 2026 Summer Godzilla-thon:
Kazuki Omori’s ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante’ (1989) 🦖🇯🇵🌹

After Godzilla’s previous attack in 1984, a miniature arms race ensues to collect his cells. Five years later in 1989, the Japanese government, concerned over Godzilla’s possible return, use the cells to create a new bioweapon, A.N.E.B (Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria). They seek the aid of geneticist Genshiro Shiragami, whose experiments result in a new mutation. Praised for its imaginative concept, dark tone, and impressive practical effects, ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante’ is considered one of the most unique and thematically rich Godzilla films, blending action with tragic science fiction.

With the purchase of any ticket, customers will be eligible to win a special raffle prize. For our screening we will be raffling off one stunning 4K UHD & Blu-Ray combo-pack release of ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante’ from The Criterion Collection, as well as an S.H.Monsterarts figure of Godzilla 1989. ‘Blue Heron’ takes place in the late 1990s, where a family of six settles into their new home on Vancouver Island, as internal dynamics are slowly revealed through the experiences of the youngest child, Sasha. Their fresh start is interrupted by the increasingly dangerous behavior of Jeremy, the family’s oldest child.

‘The Motorcycle Diaries’ is based on the journals of Che Guevara, leader of the Cuban Revolution. In his memoirs, Guevara recounts adventures he and best friend Alberto Granado had while crossing South America by motorcycle in the early 1950s.

Join us on June 6th at 7:00pm for a Special 35MM presentation of Richard Donner’s ‘The Goonies’!

We will also be having a Goonies T-Shirt and The Abbey Seal Beach gift-card raffle prior to the show.

Facing foreclosure of their homes in the “Goon Docks” area of Astoria, Oregon to an expanding country club, a group of children who call themselves “the Goonies”—Mikey, Data, Mouth, and Chunk—gather for one final adventure and chance to save the “Goon Docks”. Rummaging through Mikey’s attic, they come across a 1632 doubloon and an old treasure map purporting to lead to the treasure of legendary pirate “One-Eyed Willy”, believed to be located somewhere nearby and considered by Mikey to be the original Goonie.
