I’m not a from-scratch person. 😂 But when I discovered how simple homemade clotted cream could be, I had to try it.

And now I’m wondering why I waited so long!

I love clotted cream. 🤍

But I don’t love paying a fortune for a tiny jar.

So I decided to see if I could make it myself—and let’s just say, I was pleasantly surprised. 😂

The things we remember most about being welcomed usually aren’t the big things.

It’s the little kindnesses.
The conversation.
Someone making room for us.
The feeling that we were genuinely glad to be there.

You don’t need a perfect table or an elaborate menu to make someone feel welcome. 🌿

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Cara has perfected one of my favorite tea-time rituals: snuggling up beside me while I enjoy a cup of herbal tea.

She doesn’t care what’s in the cup, whether the china matches, or whether I’ve planned anything at all.

She’s just happy to be close.

And maybe that’s one of the sweetest things our dogs teach us—sometimes the best part of a quiet moment is simply having someone beside you.

Here’s to the little companions who make ordinary days feel a bit more special.

There’s a lot of talk about tea etiquette and doing things “properly.”

But the older I get, the more I think the best kind of etiquette is much simpler: be thoughtful, make room, and help people feel at ease. 🌿

That’s something my mum understood beautifully.

But the older I get, the more I think the things that matter most have very little to do with rules at all.

I think she may have understood tea etiquette better than she ever realized. 🌿

What’s one hospitality “rule” you were taught growing up that you’ve decided you don’t need to follow anymore?

Maybe it was keeping the house perfectly tidy before anyone could come over.

Maybe everything had to match.

Maybe you felt you needed to have something homemade ready for guests.

Or maybe there’s a little rule you still follow because it makes you smile—and you wouldn’t dream of giving that one up.
