People have asked me why the sudden shift to more hats and sewn pieces and the answer is: my grandmothers. 🖤
I was fortunate to have two amazing sewists as grandmothers. My Nanny Jean was not only a professional seamstress but a milliner (hat maker) as well.
Over the last 7 years these two amazingly talented matriarchs have left this plane of existence to craft in the great beyond with my mom.
They taught me at a young age to sew, mend, and craft. And most importantly they instilled the idea that I can do anything if I give it my all.

This year's line of hats is dedicated to them. I owe them so much for the knowledge they gifted me (on top of the amazing stash of material!) Thank you, Nanny and Grammy.

TL;DR My grandmother's were rad and this is my love letter to them. 💖

Shop hours for the rest of the month are a little different, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up.
As a lot of you know Halloween is my favorite season, so we have a lot of events going on for Hummingbird's and for my family. 🎃

Every Sunday for the rest of September I'll be at Dancing Grain for Empire of the Sun.

We are officially open in The Shirt Factory !
I'll be here until 6pm tonight with art, sales, snacks, and a giveaway.

I'm so happy to announce that my new Art Studio & Boutique will officially open Labor Day Weekend!
After a ton of work, anxiety, tears, wild visions, and laughter this dream space will have its big day on Saturday August 30th 11am to 6pm!
Please join me in celebrating this big moment.
There will be light refreshments, sales, and a giveaway!

Hummingbird's Blooms Art Studio & Boutique coming soon!

I'm excited to announce that I'll be opening a brick and mortar location in the The Shirt Factory !

This has always been the dream, but I didn't expect it to happen, especially this soon. So a big thank you to all of my customers, maker/artist buddies, friends, and family for helping make this dream come true.

And while the last month has been absolute chaos for myself and my family, this is a more than welcome exciting step forward!

Keep an eye out for the Grand Opening announcement in the coming weeks.

A little update from your local weirdo flower farming artist:

On top of the world being a dumpster fire...
As some of you may know, my dad suffered a traumatic brain injury on June 12th, with a very grim initial prognosis. And by some miracle he has more than exceeded that original outlook! 🙌🏻
This has been an extremely intense rollercoaster of emotions for myself, my siblings, and our immediate family. Emotional whiplash describes it best.
I've set up a CaringBridge account for anyone who wants to check on his progress or follow his journey. I put the 🔗 below.

So even though I may be quieter on social media, I'm still here and I'm still making art!
