The vertical rhythm of horsetail set the structure, while the mums brought warmth and light. Dianthus added subtle depth and movement, and leather fern created a calm foundation, completing the composition with natural elegance for this private Ikebana lesson.

A simple study in harmony—where every element has purpose, and silence becomes part of the design.

Happy Earth Day! Today, I’m grateful to spend Earth Day doing what I love most - teaching two Ikebana classes and working closely with branches, stems, and blooms that remind us how deeply connected we are to nature.

Ikebana is a practice of respect for every line, every leaf, and the space between. It teaches us to slow down, use materials mindfully, and appreciate the quiet beauty the earth provides.

Honoring the earth through flowers, learning, and gratitude today.
