Time is drawing close to closing our LouZiana Fiod restaurant my friends - Sunday, August 21, 2022 - will be our last day.
If you’d like to take a ‘Taste of LouZiana Food’ home with you before we close, remember many of our classic entrèes can be purchased in gallon size and then frozen - for whenever you get an “envie” - craving for a taste of LouZiana Food. Freeze in smaller portions (or the whole gallon!) and enjoy later.

Hey Y’all, There is just no easy way to say this … Pete and I have some sad news we need to share:
We are Closing.

Sunday, August 21, 2022 will be our last day open at the restaurant.

However, we will still be doing catering until Friday, August 26, 2022. Please call soon to place your last catering orders! Keep in mind, many of our entrees freeze really well, so you can enjoy us a little bit longer.

NOW IS the Time to Use Your Gift Certificates!!!

Also good news for all of you fans of LouZiana Food Seasoning:
Buy One Get One Free, at the restaurant, until they are all gone.

Thank You All, so much, for supporting us for these past six years at the restaurant. Quite a few of you followed us from our food truck to the restaurant. Others just walked in and took a chance on us and just kept coming back. Then we have our fantastic friends and and our amazing family, many of whom worked with us, side by side, from start to finish.

Another big Thank You - to all of y’all who helped spread the delicious word of LouZiana Food from the beginning. Slowly but surely, lines began to form at the restaurant. We were delighted to see all of our hard work starting to pay off, delighted to see so many smiles on so many cafes.

Then came Covid. And even during that initial time of enormous fear and unknown, so many of you, went out of your way to check in on us - ordered food to go.

As more and more time went by, slowly, people would come back to the restaurant. But then the next wave, or the next variant popped up and we were empty again. Covid caused a veritable tsunami of economic waves to crash in on us, one right after the other. Keeping the restaurant open has become unsustainable.

Huge, Enormous Thanks to so many of Y’all for keeping us going through thick and thin. Thank you to our staff, our vendors and the very best customers a restaurant could ever want.

Over the remaining few weeks that we are open, I’ll post here about some of the truly amazing groups of people and individuals that have made the LouZiana Food experience so wonderful for us. I hope y’all will share too - favorite foods, favorite stories, events you were a part of, what you will miss most.

I’d love to give you all a great big hug and I really hope I get to see as many of you as possible, before we close up our restaurant operations on Sunday, August 21, 2022. (And remember we are closed on Mondays)

It has been our very great pleasure, to serve all of y’all a taste of our family’s South Louisiana cuisine..

Hey Y’all - please forgive us once more … we need to close early tomorrow evening. We will close at 6pm tomorrow, Saturday, 7/9/22.

Hey Y’all - I am sorry to say that due to a continuing work shortage, we are closed again today. ☹️
Y’all know it’s been a struggle.
Out deepest and most heartfelt Thanks to our Executive Chef Rick Huffman - who has continued to bear the larger load, to Nate Jason - who started on our food truck, then at the register and now works when he can behind the line, whine he finished his Masters Degree at SDSU, and our phenomenal,
loyal, small but outstanding service crew at the register taking care of all of y’all.
Look for me again this Wednesday, when I am back from mine and Pete’s early, 34th anniversary trip. Y’all will be seeing a lot of me this summer - I am looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible too!

“BATON ROUGE – With six former Tigers in this year’s Super Bowl, LSU will run its streak of consecutive years with at least one player in the game to 21 straight when the Cincinnati Bengals face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The 21 consecutive years with a player in the Super Bowl ties with Georgia for the longest such streak in college football. LSU has had at least one player on a Super Bowl roster dating back to Super Bowl XXVI in February of 2002.

Purdue previously held the streak of 21 straight before the Boilermakers were shutout of last year’s Super Bowl. Prior to that, Nebraska held the longest streak of 26 consecutive years before missing out on the Super Bowl two years ago featuring the Chiefs and the 49ers.

The list of formers Tigers on Sunday’s Super Bowl rosters include: quarterback Joe Burrow (Bengals), wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals), defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin (Bengals), tight end Thaddeus Moss (Bengals), wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (Rams) and offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth (Rams).” -2/11/22 LSU sports net.com

PRAYERS FOR LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI and all the affected States, as Hurricane Ida slams it’s way across the country.
Right now, Ida is terrifying our family in South Louisiana - winds of 149mph. Please PRAY for Miracles.
Additionally, many people, including our oldest daughter, and one nephew’s family - among thousands- have evacuated. Pray for their safety on the road and where they are all sheltering - especially with Covid.
