La Jolla Playhouse’s WOW Festival returns April 4-7, 2024! A San Diego Symphony string quartet will be featured in “Spectrum,” one of the 25+ immersive art experiences, bringing to life a full-on puppetry spectacle from Animal Cracker Conspiracy Puppet Company as they channel the silly, supernatural and sublime, inviting all to appreciate the universe and our place in it.

A San Diego Symphony woodwind quintet recently visited
Sandburg Elementary School in Mira Mesa to perform for 215 third, fourth, and fifth graders.

Sandburg Elementary's Tiger Den is one of 82 elementary schools participating in San Diego Symphony's new interactive music program called Sound and Silence. Educators can mix and match the program’s in-person and online resources including a 9-week classroom curriculum, video resources featuring San Diego Symphony musicians, educator professional development workshops, and on-campus chamber music performances.

Last month, trumpeter Pacho Flores appeared as a special guest for a Dr. William and Evelyn Lamden Masterclass held at San Diego State University. 🎺🎶

Pacho began the masterclass by guiding the entire audience through his warmup routine. Five students then performed solo repertoire and were brilliantly coached by Pacho. The San Diego Symphony will be performing a 🆓 community concert at Sycuan's Heritage Event Center on Saturday, March 2nd, as part of our Music Connects program! 🎼🎻

Music Connects provides access to musical experiences for the entire San Diego region, including free neighborhood concerts and performances in hospitals, senior residences, and other community centers. This performance will be led by Norman Huynh and include music by Beethoven, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. 🎵 Sycuan Casino Resort is a proud sponsor of the San Diego Symphony.

For 24 years, our Cool Women Celebration has honored more than 200 exemplary leaders for their positive contributions to the development of girls and women.

🙌 We had the chance to sit down with San Diego Symphony Music Director Rafael Payare and hear about his special friendship with none other than the virtuosic trumpeter, Pacho Flores. Last weekend, the San Diego Symphony Orchestra joined the San Diego Opera on stage for Mozart's "Don Giovanni," lead by conductor Yves Abel. 🎭🎶 Surrounded by fully staged and costumed singers and state-of-the-art theater lighting and projections, this new production of the operatic classic was a stunning visual and auditory experience! 🌟
