Wiggles, giggles and a little musical magic are always welcome here. 💛🎶

There’s so much to love about our Symphony Kids and Family Concerts at Jacobs Music Center! From hands-on instrument exploration and creative pre-concert activities to sensory-friendly experiences and plenty of opportunities to move, these concerts are designed to make live music welcoming, engaging and fun for the whole family.

🎵 Symphony Kids introduces our youngest music lovers, ages 0–5, to the instruments of the orchestra through short, interactive and sensory-friendly concerts. This series was developed in partnership with the SDSU Center for Autism and Autism Society San Diego, in partnership with ChIMES.

🎻 Family Concerts, designed for ages 6–12, bring the full San Diego Symphony Orchestra to the stage for one-hour performances filled with musical stories, imagination and interactive moments.

And the fun starts before the concert! Arrive early to explore hands-on activities included with your ticket.

A gentle, sensory-friendly introduction to the violin, viola, cello and bass — with plenty of opportunities to listen, sway, sing and move along.

From the exhilarating folk-inspired rhythms of the Caucasus to the majestic sounds of the Austrian Alps. 🏔️🎻

Music & Artistic Director Rafael Payare, violinist Sergey Khachatryan and the San Diego Symphony unite for a program inspired by vast mountainous landscapes. Khachatryan brings the irresistible melodies and dazzling energy of Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto to life, followed by the grandeur of Bruckner’s monumental Ninth Symphony.
