My story:
For everyone who doesn’t know, I am married. We will celebrate a ripe 2 years this November and have one beautiful baby boy. Our love story took a very long time to come into place. We met almost 8 years ago through church youth events and always knew of each other and would see each other every few months at said events.
In whole hearted honesty I NEVER saw my now darling husband as anything more than “that tall guy with the nice eyes” all those years. We both had our own journeys and struggles, and one day out of the blue, at a time where we had both gotten out of extremely toxic relationships. He started messaging me. If my husband did anything right while we were friends it was that he was PERSISTENT. He always tried to come visit me at my house- I always made an excuse. He always invited me to go out- I’d make up excuses or lie to get out of it. I fought his attempts until the day I didn’t and just laid it at Gods feet and we went bowling with a group of his friends.
We really got to know each other as friends for 6 months and THIS HOW I KNEW HE WAS THE ONE: not once when we hung out with friends, family or even just us two did he try to hug me, hold my hand or kiss me until the day he told me he was in love with me and we shared our first kiss.💘
Flast forward 9 months, we were looking at engagement rings and seriously talking about marriage.
HERES WHY I STARTED ELI AND EVE:
Now, my husband isn’t the greatest planner so the day he took my parents out to ask for my hand his mom messaged me. “Congrats! Raul told me he was going to talk to your parents!” Ummm, I had no idea. She felt terrible that she spilled the beans but i never told Raul until about a week ago 😂. From the beginning I knew what was coming and soon. My husband was a photographer and said he wanted to take my to Elfin forest for a “photo shoot” ( 😜 wink) so we Got dressed up and headed to Escondido.
The moment we got there I saw our amazing friend, Diana with her camera. Pretending to be a rando shooting away. My stomach dropped knowing, THIS IS IT, it’s gonna happen!! But since I saw her I knew it was coming and as excited and happy as I was, the proposal was not at all a surprise.
