I FINALLY had the opportunity to work with Jessica, the owner of , whose enthusiasm is infectious! She creates beauty with plants, is a people connector and is down with a capital D to partner on fun shindigs. Can’t wait for more goodness with this cool gal! HUGE shoutout to and , who inviting us to be the (very willing) guinea pigs for their new marketing and copywriting workshop alongside a badass group of event pros. Valuable concepts, thought-provoking exercises, motivating discussions, and an easygoing atmosphere – it hit all the right notes. (A gorgeous setting at and delicious lunch from didn’t hurt.) I highly recommend workshopping with these ladies; you will thank yourself for carving out time for your biz. Thank you both!

Have you ever read the entire transcript of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech? I have, many times; it gives me waves of chills.

It’s remarkable and, yet, nearly 55 years later, remarkably (and dishearteningly) still feels very current – just add to “Negro” the many other groups that have been marginalized by the person in our highest office (so…pretty much everyone).
•
And yet, the hope is there in Dr. King’s speech, and I choose to believe it’s here too, in 2018. I see it in the brave individuals and grassroots organizations fighting for justice across the country, and most definitely in our community. One source of hope for me has been joining Business For Good San Diego, a coalition of small business owners advocating for progress in San Diego. I want to hear: what’s one thing you’re doing to make our community – and our world – stronger, more hopeful?
