The year 2019 in review— here’s to 2020… Happy New Year!🎆 . . .

I just realized that this past summer was the 50th anniversary of the Hippodrome. Here we are in 2018 which i‘m pretty sure none of us back in 1968 expected. I sure didn’t.

How lucky we were, what a grand time we had and we were all immortal. We were all beautiful and vibrant and young. I remember when I was young hearing some of the old people complain how time had stolen so much from them, now here I am finally understanding what they meant.

So, my youthfulness was not appreciated at the time but damn it sure was enjoyed, and old age just falls underthe rubric of “sh*t happens!”

In the spring of 1968 in La Jolla California a bunch of us were sitting around talking when the idea of doing a rock concert in San Diego came up. The more we talked the more excited we got about it. Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Grateful Dead were the top choices. Ron (Anchovy) Barca and George Driver had some experience - having already put on a couple of "loveins" at the recently opened UCSD campus and the Cove Park in La Jolla - which somehow made what might only have been a pipe dream actually seem possible. And so Trans-Love Airways Productions was born.
