So I am working on a new project: A baby blanket for my new niece. The challenge? Mom doesn't like frilly blankets, traditional baby themes, or pink... The solution? An over sized blanket featuring a yellow and purple checkerboard pattern with a bit of a twist. Instead of alternating purple and yellow blocks, I am alternating yellow blocks with yellow and purple checkerboard pattern blocks! The purple becomes just a nice accent to a bright an sunny yellow blanket. I will probably finish it with a purple border just to make the purple stand out a bit more!
