I’ve already posted this to my feed, but I wanted to repost it as a before and after in honor of concluding a two week period of feeling incredibly self-doubting and inadequate.

The first time I edited this photo several years ago I was still “retouching” in Lightroom (and by that I mean just removing all texture from my subject’s face) and let me tell you, I really thought I popped off with this one.

I’ve spent the last two weeks overthinking all of my edits and social media posts, but seeing this side-by-side is a gentle reminder of how much I’ve grown in my work, and more importantly that I HAVE the capability to grow. Ultimately, it is a blessing to be able to cringe at your old work.

I wanted to share this in case anyone else needs to hear that you have yet to become the best version of yourself and you’re doing fantastic on the path that you’re on.
