Toddlers aren't meant to sit still. That's just the truth of it. So I think… why fight the wiggles when they make for such cute candids?
Kids will inevitably hit an age where they stop and smile politely for the camera, but this window of silliness is so short, and I’m so happy I found a family that understands that and fully embraced it.
Don’t get me wrong, we did our best to get that “perfect family photo,” but not at the expense of the kids having fun. The last thing I want is for a kid to walk away from a session feeling like it was a terrible experience, and for the parents to leave feeling frustrated and stressed out.
Because at the end of the day, these photos should feel like them… a little wild, a little messy, and completely full of life. 💛

Some weddings are filled with tradition and planned moments while others are quiet, intentional, and deeply meaningful.

Chelsea and Brett’s wedding at Knot & Pine in Alpine, Utah was the latter, and it was beautiful in all the ways that truly matter. This was not the first marriage for either Chelsea or Brett, and because of that, they approached their wedding day with a different purpose. They didn’t want spectacle or fanfare. Instead, they wanted a small, intimate gathering focused on connection, presence, and the people who mean the most to them. Knot&Pine was the perfect setting for exactly that kind of day.

Last week I had the absolute honor of capturing one of the coolest surprise proposals I’ve ever witnessed at Lake Effect in downtown Salt Lake City. 🤍
Her partner was just ending his set on stage when she rushed up and flipped the script — proposing in front of a packed room. The energy, the love, the emotion… unreal.
Afterward, the bride‑to‑be wanted portraits with an edgy, moody, bar‑scene feel to match the moment — and Lake Effect delivered every ounce of drama. Dark corners, velvet textures, champagne, and so much love. I’m obsessed with how these turned out. 🖤✨

Last month I had the joy of photographing the sweetest wedding tucked inside the timeless beauty of the Utah State Capitol building. 🤍

From the grand marble staircases to the soft glow of the rotunda, every corner felt like it was made for capturing something magical. The way the light bounced off the stone and wrapped around this couple made the whole day feel elegant, intimate, and truly unforgettable.

There’s something so special about shooting a wedding in a place that feels vast and full of history. Watching two people promise forever beneath those soaring ceilings was a moment I’ll never forget.

One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings is helping couples plan the perfect moments for their portraits. Most timelines are already set when I'm booked but every now and then, I get the chance to offer input on when the magic should happen.
Memorial House in Memory Grove Park sits down in a gully, and over the years I’ve learned that there’s a very brief window when the sun begins to slip below the ridge and bathes the whole scene in the most beautiful, glowing light and I was elated when the bride asked me what time we should capture their wedding portraits. I didn’t know the exact minute it would happen on this particular day, but I had a pretty good idea, and everything ended up aligning perfectly.
Right place, right time, and the sweetest newlyweds.
