I went to the Walker on Friday night.
It was the first-ever Walker Design Triennial..... Beyond Materialism..... and we got in the night before the whole city did. A party, a DJ, drinks, the building wide open.
And I spent half of it standing in front of one piece.
Not posed. Not filming myself. Just quiet, feeling it land.
Here's the thing I keep coming back to. The spaces that get me are never the ones trying to impress me. They're the ones that let me in. That make room. That don't ask me to be anything but a person standing in front of something beautiful.
That's the whole thing I build. In art, at a table, in a room full of women who walked in alone and didn't leave that way.
Come alone. Leave connected.
