Beautiful texture and movement are achievable on brown hair!

I worked at a wedding a couple of weeks ago where the mother of the groom brought her own hairstylist. This hairstylist kept saying, “35 years, 35 years I’ve been doing this.” However, she also made a “factual statement” that the beautiful styles you often see on blonde hair just can’t be achieved on brown hair. She suggested that women with brown hair should opt for sleeker, smoother styles to avoid disappointment.

I was standing there thinking, absolutely not! Is it true that blonde hair, especially highlighted hair, allows for more dimension in a style? Maybe. But to say that brunettes shouldn’t even try is absurd!

There’s an industry standard for finding photos that reflect your hair color, length, and texture for a reason: it provides a more realistic understanding and expectation of what your hair can do. Making such a matter-of-fact statement puts our brown-haired girls in a box! I’m not down for that.

This experience is also a good reminder that not all hairstylists are bridal specialists. We train for this, we specialize in it and we can do it for you. The bonus is we have fun doing it!
