Happy one year anniversary to Emily & Josh! This year has certainly not looked like anyone expected, but these two kicked off their marriage with an intimate ceremony before they were required. All the love to these two 💙

GIVE ME ALL THE SUNSHINE!!!
Weather like today makes me so excited for this summed, with all the unknowns, for even small intimate moments like this.

A surprise wedding, where Emily snuck in the back door, and I was there to let them in when the time was right. Everything about the energy of this day was to die for!

Whether you’ve got an intimate gathering of 10 or still looking at a party of 300 of your closest friends, I can’t wait to be part of the little details of your day!

Lilacs are my favorite. I went for a walk with my stepson yesterday and they were everywhere!! The smell reminds me of summers riding my bike with my friends through the neighborhoods. In the language of flowers, they represent first love or youthful innocence, which makes perfect sense with their sweet smell and short blossoming period.

The language of flowers is an important (if not a bit nerdy) sentiment to me, from the flowers in my tattoos to the suggestions I’ll give as you build your bouquet (you don’t want your flowers to say “regrets” do you?).

What are your favorite flowers?? 🌹🌻🌷

🖊The last month or so has been Radio Silence...

If I can be real with you, I’ve lost my normal service industry job for now and have been adjusting to full time home schooling my eight (almost nine) year old step son. We would normally have him on every other weekend, and instead we spend every day together struggling with his ADHD to get through reading (his least favorite thing ever) and behaviors.

Being thrown into a teaching-parenting role is not something I was emotionally prepared for, and I have been doing my best to just get through it. A lot of things have fallen by the wayside, from laundry to running a business. I’m just thankful to have an amazing support system, sharing a house with family who can jump in and work together.

Everyone’s heard that we are in this together, that it’s a tough time for everyone. Brides who have had to adjust, I can’t even begin to imagine. Full time parents, you’re doing incredible. No one knows how or when this will be “over” or if things will ever be “normal” again, but I am right there with you all and sending my love 💙💙💙

Let’s be real for a hot second...we all use comparison to define what we are doing and what we should do. A lot of the times we feel pressure when we aren’t meeting the “standard”. Heck, I’ve been feeling like this about running a business!!

There’s a lot of pressure when it comes to weddings. From yourself, from the internet, from your parents/future-in-laws, it almost doesn’t end. Don’t let the “well at MY wedding...” or “5 Things You Should Have At Your Wedding” ruin your excitement!! This is YOUR day and it’s going to go how you want it to, not how you think it SHOULD.

Part of my job is to remind you of that, to help you get to the core of what your vision is, and to ease some of the anxiety in the process of making that happen. I’ve got your back, and I will be your cheerleader and reality check all in one💪🏼

I had a bride tell me “I just want to walk down the aisle and eat some tacos” which is exactly when I knew we would be working well together, but ALSO that there may be some brides whose focus is on the wedding and experience itself, which is amazing! I love that! Focus on yourselves and getting married.

You know you want photos out but not sure where or how you want them to look? Hand me the photo frames, I’ll make sure they’re arranged in a visually appealing and prominent (but not in the way) location! I’ll also be the one to rearrange when it’s time to use the brick wall as a photo backdrop 😉

How We Started

Throughout college, I was working at Plato’s Closet, where I founded some of the most versatile and kind friendships with coworkers I had ever experienced. With most of us around the same age and in long term relationships, engagements started happening while we were around 23. Some of us had been friends throughout high school, and while I wasn’t part of that group, I became close to everyone quickly. This lead to my coworker asking me to be her Personal Attendant.

Let me reiterate. I have never been part of a wedding before, much less even attending one since I was a child. I had NO idea what a personal attendant was supposed to take care of!! I did what any college kid who wanted to put off homework did - I studied. I delved deep into the topic, to avoid laundry and doing anything productive in terms of college work. I crafted an emergency kit for myself and one for the bride, I found a cute Bride robe while at work that I grabbed for my friend, and tried to be involved as possible with my busy schedule and quick timeline of the wedding.

The day of came and I met the DJ when they arrived while the bridal party were getting ready, and I was with the bride to fluff her train during pictures of her and the groom. I called my significant other, who was at the cocktail hour, and asked them kindly to light the candles and ensure the veggie trays were well stocked while everyone was finishing photos. It was my first experience, and it felt chaotic having to manage the bride and groom AND the reception venue, which I wasn’t even at. But it felt great to have it all come together in the end!

Shortly after this experience, another coworker got engaged and asked me to help her fully plan her wedding, admitting she didn’t have a lot of visual strength. We were lucky enough to be able to request specific days off together and meet after work, where we grabbed coffee and discussed everything from color schemes to attending the dress shopping appointments together. Even during work, we were able to talk smaller details. It made it very easy, instead of working around schedules, to get things accomplished. Everything from wedding invitations, to name cards, to her bouquet, to the ceremony decorations, were all planned and handcrafted by me (with the help of her and her husband to be). It was so much stress, but in the most exhilarating way! Seeing the joy celebrated that day was more than worth it.
