Registration for our July 26–27 wrestling camp has officially been EXTENDED all the way up to the event day! That’s right — you’ve still got time to sign up and train with some of the best in the sport.

This isn’t just another camp.

We’re not here to overcharge or sell hype — we’re here to bring real opportunity to kids in our area. The Hawks Youth Wrestling Club and the SCWA are both organizations that give back to the community and genuinely want what’s best for young athletes.

Big Thanks to Birch Run Wrestling for hosting the 52nd Saginaw County Tournament!
The tournament ran smooth and people loved seeing it back at Birch Run! 🐾

Congratulations to all your wrestlers!

Great day hosting the Saginaw County Invitational. BR finished 2nd overall out of 13 teams, 17 placers, and 1 County Champ - Brayden Cox - 120 lbs.

🚨 52nd Saginaw County Wrestling Tournament Recap 🚨

Wow—what an incredible day of wrestling at Birch Run High School! Yesterday’s tournament was one for the history books, and we have so many highlights to share!

🏆 Freeland High School captured their first-ever Saginaw County Championship in school history!

🥇 Quinton Everett of Chesaning High School became a 4-time County Champion, defeating a tough opponent, Kaelen Harrington (Birch Run HS), in the finals with an 11-3 decision. Quinton was named Most Valuable Wrestler (MVW) of the lower weights.
Achieving the title of 4-Time Champ is an accomplishment that very few wrestlers have been able to achieve at this historic tournament.

🔥 One of the most exciting matches of the day featured Michael Baldwin (Saginaw United), Division 1’s #1-ranked wrestler at 175 lbs, bumping up to 190 lbs to face Ethan Wakefield (Michigan Lutheran Seminary), Division 4’s #1-ranked wrestler at 190 lbs. Baldwin came out on top with a 14-7 win and earned the MVW for the upper weights.

👏 The Coaches' Award was given to Malachi Hill (Freeland HS, 138 lbs), the #6-ranked wrestler in the state in Division 2, who pinned Bradyn Curtis (Frankenmuth HS), the #6-ranked wrestler in the state at 132 lbs in Division 3, with a pin in the third period!

🎖️ Coach of the Year honors went to Jon Rosebush and Dareus Boddie of Freeland—a well-deserved recognition for two of the greatest leaders of young men and women we know!

🏅 The Paul Sipiala Award was presented to Jayden Oats (Saginaw United, 175 lbs), honoring his incredible work ethic and "no excuses" attitude—an inspiring example of dedication and perseverance.

🙏 A special shoutout to the Fordney Club of Saginaw County of Saginaw County for their continued support of this tournament through their annual donation that makes what we do possible. We are so grateful for their commitment to Saginaw County Wrestling. A big thanks to Matt Gronda, Fordney Club President, for attending and personally presenting the Fordney Cup to Freeland!
