Bad at posting, really good at getting muddy.

This time of year always makes me so grateful for the families that come back to me every year. While I appreciate the business, of course, it has nothing to do with that and everything to do with getting to visit with my favorite people. This year has totally jolted me because "my" kids are getting so big. These boys have grown from tiny toddlers to big, brave brothers that are steadily growing out of my silly prompts... and so we pivot. Giving older kids something to do at their session, giving your photos context, instead of just sitting in a field is how we capture memories authentically, without forcing smiles. Always happy to jump in a creek. Just wish they'd stop growing.

No driving. No diaper bag. No accidentally forgetting the formula or the wipes.
No four hour appointment in the city. No crying without consolation (for baby, or for you... we can all cry, I have tissues!) Sip your coffee from your couch while you tell me your birth story.

✨ A little Tuesday night pregnancy magic ✨

Your baby’s fingerprints are shaped, in part, by movement inside the womb? Those tiny loops, whorls, and ridges of her fingers begin forming from DNA, but they are influenced by their little dance parties, flips, twirls, hiccups, and even your own movement throughout the day. This is why identical twins don’t have identical fingerprints. The environmental differences infants experience in the womb nudge those fingerprints into their own unique patterns between 10 and 24ish weeks. After that, the pattern stays the same for the rest of their life, only growing in size as baby's hands get bigger.
