Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by the wedding algorithm 🙋🏼‍♀️

Most of the algorithm (Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok) is telling you what your wedding should look like. Almost none of it is asking what you actually want the day to FEEL like.

Before you say yes to something, ask what it’s doing for you. Does it make the night better for you & your people, or is it just something you’ve been convinced you need?

What’s ideal for one couple isn’t ideal for another. Sometimes that’s a full floral install over the sweetheart table because seeing that in your reception space is going to wreck you in the best way. Sometimes that’s repurposing your ceremony florals instead and putting the money toward a late night snack cart nobody saw coming. Both are right. One isn’t more of a wedding than the other.

Spend on what matters to YOU, skip what doesn’t.

People WILL try to RSVP late. You get to say no.

Once your RSVP deadline passes, close the form. No public link left open, no easy “I’ll just add myself now.” If someone missed it, they have to text you directly to ask.

This isn’t about being petty (unless you want it to be). It’s about protecting your peace AND your final headcount, which your caterer. venue and your seating chart are all depending on.

Save this for when you need a reminder that you don’t have to let anyone who didn’t RSVP on time come to your wedding.

What IS Partial Wedding Planning anyway??

I like to call it our “goldilocks” package because for so many clients, it’s JUST RIGHT!

Partial planning is exactly what it sounds like: help with wedding planning, but we’re not planning it all for you.

We focus on areas where most clients need expert advice: budget, design, and tying all the details together at the end. Here’s what that looks like in practice:

✨Custom wedding design: we’ll help bring your ideas together into one cohesive design plan and then help you source & secure your design-specific wedding vendors.

✨Monthly check-in meetings: designated time to get help when you’re struggling or ask any questions that come up during the planning process! If you don’t have anything specific to discuss, we’ll go through our custom planning checklist to make sure you’re right where you should be.

✨Wedding budget guidance: we’ll help you create a realistic wedding budget based on current average costs and offer advice for where you should focus your money based on what’s important to you!

✨Unlimited email communication: need a quick question answered? We got you!

✨Extended takeover period: we’ll take over vendor communication and ensure everything is in order before your big day. We allow unlimited scheduled calls during this time so we can be there for anything you need help with!

Partial planning is really the best of both worlds - you still do most of the legwork, but you’ll have an expert guiding you through the process so you don’t feel like you’re going at it alone!

You absolutely do not need all of these to have an incredible wedding. But if you have a little extra wiggle room in your line items, these subtle details punch way above their weight class💋

BRB Venmo requesting you for your meal cost 🏃‍♀️

…but in all seriousness this WILL happen and it IS extremely frustrating. I’ve seen over 200 weddings and only handful had every guest attend.

Should you plan for this by ordering less food? NO!

Prep your heart & mind for last-minute cancelations. People are rude and it’s going to happen. Stress & resentment will ruin your experience faster than a no-show guest.

BUT ALSO: can we please all agree that if you RSVP “yes” to a wedding, the literal only reason you don’t go is an ACTUAL emergency?

Emily & Matt wanted their wedding to feel earthy and whimsical, but with a modern twist. We curated a neutral color palette that drew inspiration from the venue to ensure we were complimenting the property’s existing beauty, not competing with it.

We kept the ceremony florals simple, including only a few larger ground arrangements so the beautiful fountain would be completely visible as their ceremony backdrop.

For their reception, we repurposed the ceremony florals to create a ground installation that was the focal point of their sweetheart table. We utilized a mix of round & rectangular tables, with various arrangement styles & sizes set in neutral, earthy vases. Votive & taper candles provided romantic lighting during dinner and later dancing, really setting the mood for the remainder of the evening.

Emily & Matt incorporated some personal touches on their tables through the use of baby photos on their table numbers and everyone LOVED seeing these! They also decided on a more unique dessert, which was so much fun for guests, and absolutely DELICIOUS! Who doesn’t love a churro with chocolate sauce?!

Somewhere along the way, weddings became A LOT.

More details. More decisions. More “must-haves” that didn’t even exist five years ago.

And suddenly, something that’s supposed to feel exciting starts to feel extremely overwhelming.

I wouldn’t let my best friend overcomplicate her wedding. And you shouldn’t either.

Not everything needs a custom moment. Not every corner needs to be styled. Not every trend needs to be included.

Now don’t get me wrong, if you enjoy the process and want to go above and beyond, I LOVE to help you do that!

*BUT*

The weddings that feel the best are the ones that feel intentional, easy, and actually enjoyable to be a part of.

If you’re looking to streamline the process and plan a wedding your guests will enjoy, focus on the basics: food, drink, music, and guest comfort.

Upgrading in these 4 areas will make a noticeable difference for your guests.

You don’t need always need more, you need what makes sense for you and your guests.
