This week’s Friday Feature goes to Eventos Elegantes 🎉

Friday Feature ✨ Handmade Cards with Heart

This week I wanted to feature a local creative business that truly started from passion, creativity, and making the best out of a difficult time 💛

After moving to Puerto Vallarta during Covid and struggling to find quality cards locally, Sunny Rossi started creating handmade cards as a hobby while in lockdown. What began as a creative outlet quickly turned into something people absolutely fell in love with.

And honestly… once you see the detail in these cards, you understand why.

Every single card is handmade, thoughtfully designed, and completely unique. No two are exactly alike. From elegant birthday cards to congratulations, thinking of you, holidays, and custom personalized designs, they feel so much more meaningful than grabbing something generic off a shelf.

I especially love that they look like little pieces of art. The textures, layers, colors, and details make each one feel special and personal.

If you’re celebrating Christmas in Mexico, chances are you’ll hear about posadas — one of the most beautiful and meaningful holiday traditions here. 💛

What is a Posada?
Posadas traditionally take place December 16–24 and represent Mary and Joseph’s journey seeking shelter. Today, they’ve evolved into joyful gatherings filled with food, music, candles, kids, neighbors, and lots of celebrating together.

You don’t need to follow every tradition to host a great posada — you can make it your own while honoring the spirit of community.

✨ Traditional Posada Elements:
• Candles or luminarias
• Singing or music (traditional or modern)
• Piñatas (usually star-shaped)
• Warm drinks like ponche
• Shared food and desserts

🎉 Tips for Hosting a Modern Posada in Vallarta:
• Make it open-house style — people come and go
• Do a potluck so everyone contributes
• Mix traditions: Mexican flavors + your favorite holiday dishes
